I'm going to switch to Fidelity. They'll reimburse the $75 transfer out fee Robinhood charges and are a private instead of public company. Something I'm unsure about is exactly how long this transfer is going to take though. They alsoh don't deal in fractional shares like RH so my .72 will be sold off and added to my Fidelity account probably. I'll admit part of my switch was because I remembered I used to have my 401k through them years ago and somehow my account still existed, so no waiting to be approved.

Two problems with Wealthsimple
1) They aren’t a typical brokerage where you go in and buy shares at a particular price and time. They work by recommending you a basket of ETFs (like a stock of other stocks that track entire industries or even markets). You then deposit money and they buy according to your allocation and rebalance occasionally. This is a fine way of investing long-term, but it won’t help you play the ponies you in weeks like these.
2) Even if you could use them like Robinhood, they use Apex Clearing so you’d have been cucked all the same.

The Schwab vs. Fidelity choice really comes down to UI preference at this point. Most people, myself included, give Schwab a slight edge for customer service. They’re pretty much at pricing and feature parity. I think Fidelity is doing more in the crypto space but the point of serious crypto is you hold your own wallet so I doubt that’ll matter to anyone here. Schwab is going to (or supposed to) absorb TD Ameritrade later this year and with it the thinkorswim platform which is basically Bloomberg for normies.
