AVAX is it’s own blockchain and isn’t compatible with ERCs or Ethereum wallets. An ETH wallet will hold any ERC but if you send AVAX to an eth wallet it’s gone forever, you just burned it. When i talked to a crypto tax guy he said the exchanges want to avoid US regulations which is why they "avoid" us customers. But the US makes up the majority of crypto purchases so they dont make it too difficult with kyc because they really want your business. The US doesnt care if you use a foreign exchanges so long as you report accounts having a value greater than 10k on your FBAR report annualy. I think they are trying to get crypto into fbar so it would be worth looking into reporting bc the penalty can be over 120 thousand bucks. Get a vpn, get as much avax as possible.

Just be weary of any exchanges that have accumulative withdrawal limits for kyc, like bitmax. The tax guy said if and when they find out you are US they will try to get you to withdraw as quickly as possible and close your account to avoid regulatory issues/ dealing with the US
