Nah, that's kinda ridiculous.
The statement was just that the 1kilo government issued silver is what's commonly used to satisfy COMEX contracts. I'd guess any 1kilo up silver bars are a good way to go. You can go to a place like APMEX and buy silver bars. Yeah, certain bars won't be used to fill COMEX if they are historical bars (Engelhart/Johnson Matthey/Silvertown) probably don't hurt as much. But taking silver out of circulation is gonna drive the price up bigly. Buy 100 ounces and set it aside and a significant amount of people do it, it will matter.
Thing about COMEX contracts is they have an option written in there to just deliver cash. So I'm not sure it's the best plan of action. If they can't deliver it's gonna look bad though.

For people new to silver:

The bankers use a derivatives market called the COMEX to manipulate the price of silver. 500 digital ounces of silver are traded back and forth for every real ounce held in the vaults. Equivalent to fractional reserve banking. The banks heavily short silver there. So much so that they would go bankrupt if the physical was taken delivery of. The regulators said when first setting up silver-trading on the COMEX in the 70s that the purpose was to scare off the average investor with suppression and volatility. Don’t let them beat you. Adjusted for inflation, silver should be $966 (ShadowStats).

This article about the Hunt Brothers, "Hunt for Silver," is also a must-read: https://s3.amazonaws.com/camppictures/CampArchive/Economy/Hunt%20For%20Silver.pdf They were cheated by the bankers just like the GME short-squeezers today.

If you buy silver, only buy either physical coins or if you do go with ETFs, PSLV. DO NOT buy SLV.

PSLV: Run by billionaire silver-bull and banker-killer Eric Sprott, fully audited and backed, with a delivery mechanism at 10,000 ounces for anybody

SLV: No proven metal, run by JP Morgan, only a few big banks have access, delivery for 500,000 ounces only, can pay you out in cash in case of a default

If you can't buy PSLV (just now banned on Robinhood) then buy AG, First Majestic Silver. It's the next GME. Support the squeeze on this company which has a 30% short-float. The bankers are trying to punish CEO Keith Neumeyer, who is refusing to supply the COMEX.

Thing is market price is manipulated (kinda the point of the buy and hold silver).
If this happens as planned, you're gonna see the spot for silver go up to $10 and higher while the "market" price is somehow low. Ie the market price is not that high but there is no silver anywhere. This happened as well in December. It don't matter what the "market" price is because that's fake. The physical price is what's real and what's gonna fuck over the COMEX contracts.

Just to talk about this shit a little more. The market price is pretty shit on silver. You're gonna start to see physical dry up. When it dries up, you'll see premiums spike as people try to get silver out anywhere they can. That's the start of the situation.
Premiums spiked back in March as I recall. The spot price was $20 but physical spiked up above $30 and quite literally vanished. You couldn't find it anywhere. We apparently got through that situation in a few months (I didn't pay much attention back then) so I'm not sure how this works long term but if people keep buying silver through the drought, it'll get ugly.
But where it takes balls to buy is when silver spot is $40 but you're paying $60 for physical. I suspect people will have to keep buying through a drought like that to really affect the market.

Forget the figure but it's like 2 ounces for every person on the planet. But that may be above ground. They're always digging more.
Just saying that when it goes people are gonna be talking about how "expensive" silver is cause spot is only $40 but everyone is charging way more than that. (Pick your numbers) And that's where it will take big balls to keep buying that silver. When it's dried up and the two prices diverge (physical and paper). And yeah it could get driven to a big number because the price is definitely suppressed.

Plus even if they have deposits that haven't been mined yet it will take 2 years or longer to get them rolling and pulling any silver out of the ground. All I'm saying is buy some silver.

Absolutely, it happens every day. Sterling flatware and tableware like candelabrum, shakers, sugars/creamers are common in old money areas so don't just look for bowls.

I get most cheapie sterling off eBay from dumb boomers who don't know what anything is worth, but managed to get a silver platter locally for 4 bucks last summer, current melt value $806. Go get the cheap PMs and you can have it refined and get ingots returned from refineries at costs way below spot let alone retail, though it does take some effort.

>Should I buy an ancient silver coin guys?

There is a pretty high knowledge/expertise barrier to entry with Ancient coins. Fakes are extremely plentiful and much harder for newfriends to detect than Chinese fakes of modern (post-1800) coins or bullion. Also there is a big spread between a professional dealer's asking price and what an individual would likely be able to sell back for. I primarily purchase from the metal detectorists and other collectors themselves at low prices I can actually turn a profit from, but if you don't know the market you're likely to overspend or get screwed with fake shit. I can point you in the right direction if there is a particular type of ancient coin you're looking for.

The Top 8 Silver shorts need 173 days of global silver mining production to cover their short positions,

My guessif these tiop 8 trading groups had to mind all 400 million+ ounces and deliver with actual physical silver, it would take them 173 years

I would like to see this

owning shares of a silver trust is basically owning shares of that trusts silver

as long as the silver actually exists, (in the of PSLV, it does), this just makes it easier to own silver without having to hoard it in your shoebox in your closet in case the boogaloo happens

so I think buying physical silver and having it delivered to you is the best bet

OMG, ETF tracks the real market. The market doesn't track the ETF.
Want to crash $SLV? Want to crash commex paper shorts that JP Morgan holds? OK, you are insane, but the only way to do that is if yo uhave physical.
They lie about actual inventory. We know how many shares of $GME exist. There's no way to know how much silver is available.
$SLV is isn't the silver market, and buying it won't change anything. $SLV tracks the silver spot price. The spot price is what you pay for delivery. That would be your target.
You can't effect delivery by buying paper. Buying $SLV won't effect the spot price. And, if delivery prices do diverge, $SLV won't track it.
$GME had limited supply. You could buy a trillion dollars of $SLV, and that ETF will still track the manipulated delivery price.

So question, what are some general good reputable places to buy silver and/or gold or any precious metals for that matter?
Personally I like the idea of having it in the form of novelty coins and other cool things stamped into it but having a couple raw bars would be cool too.

$SLV is an Exchanged Traded Fund, that tracks the comex silver spot price.
Manufactures use comex exchange to bid on material that they need.
Comex is manipulated by paper shorts, and that's good. If it wasn't manipulated, you couldn't afford electronics.
But, $SLV tracks the comex exchange. Comex doesn't track $SLV.
Want to destroy the system? If everyone buys two or three ounces of silver, it will will happen.
The ETF, $SLV, is a (((manged))) fund. Buy it if you believe actual silver will be squeezed. But, buying it will not effect the actual silver market.

Yea, look around and visit a few and talk to the owner (as long as they're white) and ask questions about silver, gold etc. Alot of the LCS owners I've met are total nerds in a good way when it comes to PM's and will happily engage in conversation. Once they get to know you and you make a few purchases they will lower the premiums for you.
