I don’t think people fully understand the implications of the market manipulation that these brokers are engaging in.

They essentially nullified the weekly calls for all of the stocks they restricted. These weekly calls alone would have bankrupted the MMs, even if you ignore GME. They wrote hundreds of thousands of long calls that they couldn’t afford to cover and made the calculated decision to tank the stocks value to bail themselves out.
People are worried about the GME shorts but it’s so much more than that. No one seems to be discussing how much of an affect the manipulation has had on the non GME banned stocks. Most of them have lost ~50% of their value and all momentum which saved them 10s of billions of dollars.

This is the real crime they committed and was wondering if anyone had insight or more specific numbers for this? It would be interesting to get a ballpark of the amount of money they stole doing this.

they are fucked if the call options are executed each contact is for 100 shares and there are more call options than they have share of the actual company they tried to bring the price down so the options wouldnt be good but no luck they committed fraud it goes way beyond RobinHood

Yeah I agree it goes way beyond Robinhood, but don’t know a lot of the specifics.
For example I was in bbby and amc weeklies and lost 90% of the value overnight.
This seems like an open and closed case of securities manipulation but I haven’t seen anyone try to really quantify it.

>> No.27024992

I've been investing in stocks for ~20 years and I've never seen so much blatant market manipulation in one day before yesterday (from the constant halts on the exchange to the brokerages refusing to accept orders to [to be fair] the reddit/4chan/twitter hype).

This is a battle that has less to do with GME, AMC, BB, BBY, et al and a more to do with which interests should set market prices (retail investors vs old guard institutional investors vs hedge fund short raiders vs regulators). Lots of shady if not down right illegal activity going down.

If you are in right now, keep holding and whatever happens you'll have standing for a future class action. If you are not in yet... think hard about it and don't invest anything you're not prepared to lose in the short term.

>> No.27025573

The unprincipled selling of securities on the behalf of individuals is at best illegal. These actions are beyond discreditable and tarnish the public and niche reputation of brokerage services.

On top of the trade restrictions their algo manipulation is painfully obvious and should be trivial for any regulator to prove with minimal effort. This was especially clear in Wednesday AH trading before WSB was banned.
Will anything ever come of this or do they just get away with it?

Bump. This is a major issue and will have major implications for the markets. This might be the catalyst that precipitates another crash.

By the way I find it likely that the Biden Administration out their finger on the scale for Citadel. Meaning this will likely not go anywhere legally (they're above the law)

If anyone has enough Reddit GoodBoyPoints to post over there maybe try to get a discussion going? This really needs to be the primary thing that is focused on moving forward as it really is reprehensible and unprecedented as far as I’m aware. I don’t think it’s possible to ever recover any of the losses due to them literally not having the money to cover it, but it needs to be brought to light at least. It doesn’t seem like any NEWS organization will make a point of this.

While hedge funds have more weight to throw around than any of us, they are tiny compared to the big institutional investors and pension funds out there. They can't tank the market on their own; they just have to sell off their other positions to pay for their losses caused by shorting.

Robinhood and the hedges are sacrifices to Moloch, the leaders will be taken care of anyways.
They'll break any law and give up any of their toys. If the market was allowed to take its course Citadel would have been liquidated and most financial institutions would have collapsed.
The reality is they stole hundred of billions from the common man, and will once again leave the taxpayers holdings the bags too.
