It's an overly shorted stock but lets say the people who shorted the stock go bankrupt. Who's going to going to buy the stock back? If there is no contractual obligation to buy this overly inflated stock back, nobody will.

I feel like the over 100% shorted is a meme. All these shorts dont expire at the same day. Also there are mechanisms in the market to allow a single stock to be shorted multiple times over. Shitron lost a lot of money but lets not fool ourselves. They are out of the market. Since no one wants to play the game anymore, there are going to be liquidity issues, people with large holdings of GME wont be able to sell it at their desired price because they are trading among themselves.
