The institutions are going to lock everyone out of short squeezing equities and other paper assets.
When they do the reddit brigade is going to look for the lowest hanging fruit that they can still attack.
That lowest hanging fruit is going to be SLV.
Like many other assets like GME and AMC SLV is radically short sold.
Unlike all of those other assets however SLV has a physical component to it.
It so obvious where they will be going next.
It wont even be a choice, they will be corralled into physical silver.
Yes I'm pumping my own position here but only because I took that position this very morning for exactly the reasons I'm explaining here.

The only way to do this is to buy instruments backed by real physical silver like PSLV, or to buy real silver itself.

Sorry for the confusion.
I meant that physical silver is the physical component.
And they only divorce it from the physical asset by naked shorting.
Which is the point.
You can blow those naked short positions up by continually driving the physical price up.
Its unclear how long they could maintian their naked short positions by using more naked shorts to drive the price down further and further.
But there is some physical limit there somewhere.
You cant have $1000 physical and $1 SLV without some sort of meaningful consequences resulting from that.

If jp morgan is sitting on enough silver they might make a killing.
This whole situation with GME and robinhood might have been orchestrated by JPM to unload their silver bags for a gorillion dollars.
