When these hedge funds and even smaller retail investors get margin called for their entire portfolios and all the debt theyre going to have, they will have to liquidate all their other stocks to pay back the debt they had surmounted from gamestop.

I don’t think you all realize how close we came to complete and utter collapse of the entire world financial system today over fucking GameStop.

The short squeeze began this morning when GME hit over $500/share. The shorts still hadn’t learned their lesson at this point and were still over 100% of total volume.

Here’s where it gets scary. The stock was heading for a literal infinite money glitch because the shorts NEEDED to pay any price to start the process of covering and the price was about to start going parabolic. First from 500 to 1000 in an hour, then doubling in a half hour, then doubling exponentially, until it would have brought down the entirety of the brokerages, clearing houses, hedge funds, anyone involved with GameStop except the holders.

It is without a doubt that the government, SEC, and market makers approached Robinhood and explained if they don’t turn off the buy button, the hedge funds would have collapsed. The clearing houses would have collapsed. The dominos would start to fall in attempts to cover paying the billions or trillions owed to buy the necessary shares. The S&P would have started tanking and the entire stock market would have collapsed.
