Anons I have simple questions I need answers to I've replied in several posts and no one is answering my questions.

There are rumors that contracts are expiring friday and or monday that will force the hedgefund to close its short positions at which point the short squeeze will have truly commenced.

My question is what is the source of this rumor? A logical response is acceptable not simply a link. GME is in an equities market which does not have timed contracts that I am aware of like a commodities market or an options market.

If the hedge fund has sold naked calls then this is a possibility but the payment will go to the entity that held the option and it wont effect the equities market and so stock holders in the equity market will not reap the benefit of the squeeze. Please correct me if wrong.

If the hedge fund has simply sold short in equities there is no limit to the time in which they hold this position, if their margin calls come in they will simply borrow money for the margin call from billionaire friends and double down on shorts at this high price. Expecting that at some point the price will return to its fundamental value.

Please help me understand wether the claim of contracts coming to term on friday or saturday will in fact effect the equities market, by what means it will do so.
