I'd assume any gain would fall under capital gains, strictly each transaction is a chargeable occasion. You'd use your acquisition cost + any fees etc less the gain to get your chargeable gain. I'm a Corporation Tax specialist though so my knowledge is limited.

You'd still be a UK resident, there are tests you carry out to determine status, look at the Statutory Residency tests. If you're in the UK for 183+ days you're a UK resident. If you want to cash out abroad you'll need to stay out there for at least half a year.
