Alright, so gamestop trading is closed, and I completely missed out on that opportunity. AMC is supposedly the next big target, and this time, I want in. Is it best to buy in when the market opens tomorrow morning, or should I wait for a better time? How long do you expect to hold?

You haven't missed out on GME, it's just that your odds for immense returns aren't big anymore now that the stock is past 200 and there's talk of kikes crying in the MSM for the SEC to intervene. Buy any dip on GME tomorrow morning and use whatever you have left accumulating any AMC shares below 10 dollars. This shit is going to hit 30 dollars easily now that it's the second most shorted stock. Don't fucking wait

After the vaccines are all given out and the masses are allowed to roam free again, shit like movie theaters and travel companies will spike as people flock to them after going a year without them. If we're talking strictly about buying shares and no derivatives - if you bought in at 60 a share, if it hits the theoretical 1000 mark, you would have made a 1500% roi. Even at 100, it would have been a 1000% return. But now at 200 (and probably 250 by the time the market opens early tomorrow), you're looking at a modest 300% roi with an inherently enormous risk given that this is the short squeeze we're talking about here. Ultimately, it's still worth it but when taken into context with the mania going on right now and big hedgies getting fuck so hard in the ass, you want to maximize your roi, minimize losses and you do that before everyone else and their grandma starts jumping on the train which is why it's heavily recommended to go with AMC if you can't afford it.

Fundamentally, AMC super-long-term is deeply fucked. Studios have already started migrating to streaming releases, and customers are getting used to it and liking it. Explaining: Melvin hedge fund has been massively short GME (Gamestop) which has risen spectacularly in a big short-squeeze, since the shorts can't find cheap GME shares to cover their shorts. They want to stop us from buying more GME and running the price further up.\, which costs the shorts billions in losses. So they post excited messages about OTHER hot stock opportunities now. Theory being that it's like 69% shorted. If people get in then it will cause it to rise making the shorters have to sweat.
There is also this idea that theaters will open up again as Biden pushes more vaccine and stuff. I don't think this is meant to hold very long term.

No you could make a trillion dollars theoretically.

Your profit on buying options is the difference between the strike price, the price you paid, and the price the thing settles at. So that call is going for say 20 cents. You need to stock to go to 9.20 just to break even at expiration. The probability of that is low mathematically so the calls are cheap. Just eyeballing the prices the market is pricing about a 2% chance the stock closes above 9 that’s why it’s cheap. If it was on my trading platform I could give you probabilities of you making money in any given timeframe down to four decimal places but that’s just math.

Simply put, the risk reward is what it is on those options because it’s almost certain they will expire worthless. Now if the stock shoots up a ton for whatever reason that is not yet prices in, when it is your calls will explode in value with not only the price change but also volatility and a gamma increase on those calls.

What you are betting on there is basically a fast move much higher cause they expire in a few days.

Options are great but it’s important to understand what you are actually doing with them and how they work.

This momentum will probably carry it into the stratosphere, even if it doesn't deserve it.

No you’ve got the idea.

If you want to put the probabilities in your favor you could sell put spreads, or naked puts if you were feeling frisky. Could s also buy call spreads.

If you wanna increase your probability of winning while reducing your capital outlay you can buy cal spreads. For example you’d buy the 6 strike calls let’s say and sell an equivalent amount of calls at the ten strike. You could make the difference of 4$ 100 for the contract which is then 400$ per spread. Well you’d have to buy it for something so let’s say the 6 strike is 3$ and the 10 strike is 1$ the difference is 2$ Break even now would be 8$ on the stock and you could make a maximum of 2$ (Really 200 per spread) if it expires above 10 even if it goes to 1000. You have limited your risk and also limited reward thereby increasing the probability of you actually having a chance at making money. The ballpark probability on that trade being successful at expiration would be ~75%. Probability it’s up money at some point in the trade nearly 100%. It’s up to you to take the profits.

Obviously I just made up the specific prices in whole numbers but that’s the gist of it.

Buying options is the most aggressive option strategy and ALWAYS has a less than 50% probability of you making money on the trade, that’s how options are priced.

Wanna go synthetic long stock for maximum lulz? Buy a call and sell a put for the same strike, ideally for a credit so you get paid to bet the stock is going higher. That’s the giga Chad legeraged stock trade, you can do the same in reverse though with the way volatility works inverse to price and the positive market drift at the risk free rate it tends not to work as well.

It's likely that it will pop at first, and then probably drop as some will sell to get some quick gains

But, if you want to sleep in, set up a limit order to buy in case it drops to something you're comfortable with, like $5 or so.

I've never done this, but if GameStop is any indicator this could jump like crazy right?
Right now its like $5 a share right?
So I'm willing to toss $100, and that'd get me 20 shares, right?
So say by March it could be $25 a share, and if I sold I'd get $500, right?

Who do you recommend?
People have been posting CashApp and RobinHood.
I also went to AMC and they have ComputerShare, which seems right for buying and all, but I see no way of selling?

So with these apps/sites, I assume I either add a debit card or bank routing number, I pick a company, pay the price.
Then when I sell I select stock, sell.
Then the money goes to my debit card? It goes to my bank? It does what?

I'm not planning to make then go "Okay lets try $1,000 this time on this new thing because 4chan told me so".
This is a $100, hey this looks like a win this time "gamble".
I don't gamble and I save every penny.
But $100 this one time for was seems like a probable $500 exit is okay, right?

You can't buy any now anyway. You can place an order now but you'll get whatever market value is at open. You could wait on a dip for about half an hour or so and get more, but considering the buy orders right now just dump what you have at open and watch it soar

GME had solid fundamentals originally. Despite what shorters will tell you, the company was never close to bankruptcy, even in its darkest days. Plus, there was always future upside with the next generation launch around the corner. What's happened with GME is basically an accelerated value play (so much for shitting on boomers). Oh, and the board shake-up certainly helps make the case for future e-commerce upside.

AMC was (and is still) on the verge of bankruptcy and only recently got another temporary lifeline. Unlike GME which had a new console gen to look forward to, there's really nothing imminent to help AMC's position. Yes, vaccines are rolling out, but AMC was already doing terribly dating back to 2017. Status quo is pretty meaningless.

BB is probably the best bet with the EV angle. You can easily build castles in the sky there.
