Currencies are used for trade and not for hording, a slight inflation is a good thing because it discourages hording of the coins and encourages spending and flow of the currency.

However it's low enough that it doesn't really hurt the average user with a moderate amount of coins and who keeps them moving.

Most of the arguments against doge are basically arguments against all crypto currencies and the simple fact is that bitcoin is now mainstream so these arguments are moot, we've seen it can succeed.

No one has to switch currencies, with it all being digital it will fast become trivial to switch between currencies as payout methods for stores and it really won't matter what currency you want to use, in a similar way right now you don't worry about the currency you pay in when you use a paypal account.

We just need to wait for financial institutions to catch up with currencies and start producing safe/secure products designed for greater convenience when shopping with cryptocoins

Actually there's a MASSIVE incentive, because a lot of the major currencies including the dollar are positioned for a huge crash, the US govt is inflating the crap out of the dollar by basically printing money and devaluing the whole currency, the public have no say over this it's just happening to "save the economy"

We already have people like Peter Schiff working on financial institutions which are backed by precious metals like gold/silver because they genuinely believe like most of their customers do, that there will be a huge devaling of the dollar and other currencies in the near future.

Depending on the stability of crypto currency, we may see people use that as a way to avoid losing a lot of money when hyper inflation kicks in.

Having a currency whos supply is fixed and known and cannot be modified by government is extremely massive incentive to anyone with a bit of knowledge in economics and finance.

Yeah and it's a good thing the rollout of the currency is over such a long period of time, for the currency to be successful it has to be introduced into the world slowly and as evenly as possible. Having just a handful of very rich millionaires as the basis for starting the currency is very bad, steady growth with many investors (which bad for making money) is a great way to keep the currency healthy and evenly distributed among the population.

If you can mine and establish the currency in just a few months then it'd be a failure.

The lack of a hard cap is a non-issue. Since the coin minting is set at a constant 5 billion per year, the rate of inflation decreases year-on-year until it's nearly nothing. It's only in the first year, I think, that Doge inflation is higher than USD.
