The conservative youtubers I watch say that raising the minimum wage will inflate prices, but they also say the prices are already inflating.

How is raising the minimum wage bad then? If everything already is going up over the last decades.

depends on how many immigrants you import.

>Y is already happening, might as well do X
Raising minimum wage will only make it worse. Just because there already is inflation, does not mean raising the minimum wage wouldn't affect inflation.

If you just increase minimum wage slowly year over year no one really notices it. Like $.25-0.50 each year. That's what they do here in Canada, and ya, I dont even notice or care about it. Min. wagies having their wages keep up with inflation is fine by me, Im still making 3x more and my wage also is increased every year by 2-5%

Everything I see about min wage increases in the States is so extreme. Like
>EVERYONE NEEDS FIFTEEN DOLLARYDOOS PER HOUR! NAOW!
>*burns down a bunch of small businesses*
when your min wage is like $7, lol. Why dont you guys just increase it $0.50/year or somethin? I never see that being proposed. You guys would rather spend a decade arguing over doubling it...

I'm not necessarily against raising the minimum wage, and think it should be adjusted for inflation more frequently
but 'inflation is already happening' is a terrible argument, obviously doing something that causes more inflation would make inflation worse regardless of its previous trajectory

For starters, you're implying that raising minimum wage wouldn't raise prices because prices are getting inflated already, which is just stupid. Second, raising minimum wage obliterates low skill/pay jobs, which unskilled people like young and illegal immigrants depend on. So, without jobs, they depend on govt gibs, and by the way, you're importing millions of unskilled labor which are ready to be turned into dem voters to ensure dems never ever leave office again.

Because small businesses go bankrupt and large businesses just fire half the staff and replace with automation. Keep labor competitive and cheap for local businesses to hire your retarded children. Or... Let robots do their job while your child relies on you for everything. Also robots can't be taxed, so our taxes will go up to offset the smaller taxable labor force. Smaller labor force means less customers.

Don't even come at me with that "muh if your job can be taken by a poor mexican" fuck them until your own country needs to import labor. There is no reason to exclude the most vulnerable of your own society to the benefit of others. Yes being dumb is being vulnerable in this day and age.

Im gonna say this louder for the retard conservacucks in the back. If you can't provide a living wage to employees with a certain business model, then you need to rethink the business model. You're creating an economic inefficiency by undercutting wages. Thinking about your business holistically is better in the long run anyway. Otherwise you're just another jew. Also, inflation has way more to do with the velocity of money than it does with simple M1 money supply.

>> No.26584722

It would make it impossible for small businesses to exist. There would be no way some small shop could afford to pay their employees that high a wage unless they drastically raised their prices. Owning a business will become a privilege of the wealthy because of this.

Everybody I employ who is not on salary will immediately want a raise of $6.25 based on our state minimum wage. So Joe has been working over a decade for me and is currently making 28.75, he will now want 35 an hour because the new kid came in year one at 15 which really isn't fair for no skill or responsibility. The minimum wage is set by each individual state with a baseline set by the feds. States differ dramatically and what is good for Kentucky may not be good for Idaho. The feds need to be limited as intended and stay the fuck out of our business. A 15usd federal minimum wage would create massive inflation the likes you have never seen. The workforce already in place will riot over raises. The cost of living will sky rocket as will consumer goods, food and fuel.

It would be the final nail in the coffin for the US economy. Exactly what the communist handlers want.

>> No.26586562

You can run through the numbers yourself.

Look at say walmart, use finviz for total employees, assume they all make minimum wage, and solve for maintaining the same profit margin with those added costs.

For walmart, the largest employer, that assumption leads to a 6% increase in prices for a doubling of all thier employees salaries.

It's not a bad trade off if it increases the velocity of money substantially which will in turn increase GDP. The groups that spend that most per capita on consumption are the poor and the young. So giving the poor more money or reducing things like student debt will unilaterally increase the velocity of money.

IMHO, raising the minimum wage is a nothing burger that conservatives act like is going to destroy the economy. You can already see that stimulus checks to people increased consumption which led to the stock market highs, even accounting for the weakening of the dollar. If you have any sizable amount of equity the minimum raise wage will benefit you.

The real losers are the lower middle class with no assets.

forget the inflation part. the real issue is that there is a significant number of jobs that aren't worth paying $15 an hour for, filled with unskilled people. with modern tech, you can automate around some of these jobs, leaving millions out of work. the remaining low skill jobs will have immense competition for them. this will also lead to a scenario where businesses simply don't have to give raises for these jobs, because they can just fire someone and replace them with someone who will be happy to take that $15 an hour.

once again, there is an obvious ploy to take power away from the working class, in this case in the form of removing leverage for better wages, being sold to retards as a a gift from god. the government will never do anything for people that does not benefit itself or corporate interests 10x more
