The Cryptos have the most value as an online payment system. The internet is what it is today thanks to free software (Apache.MySQL/PHP) and smartphones like Android are what they are because of software that was given away. The android community did more to promote it in the beginning than Google did, custom roms for example. Value can still be monetized.

So we have this "free" currency that, like free software, has great value as a platform for other things that are profitable, thereby increasing the value. You can't separate the payment system from the currency, demand is demand and either way price goes up, whether it's demanded for it's value as a currency or it's value as a payment system. What DOGE you own will then be worth more and more if 7 billion people shop online with it. Like now people the world over access the internet thanks to Gnu and Linux. But they couldn't have adopted it if it wasn't free. You get people using DOGE as an online currency, developers building ways for them to shop such that they don't know the difference between DOGE or Dollars. Demand rises, trust rises, stability rises, etc.

DOGE is the only one I know of where it's primary purpose is online payments.
