Is there a cheaper meal plan than pure ramen?

I can literally eat for a month for under 50 bucks with this shit.

Ramen is actually expensive because you'll die of organ failure if that's really all you eat. Scurvy is a possibility too. Beans and rice are good enough for the Mexicans it should be good enough for you too.

A diet like that will kill you quickly. Horrible things will happen to your kidneys, liver, brain function, bone density, hemoglobin count, and heart function. Just eat on $150 to -$250/mo like every other single person does.

Or, you know, make your own noodles.
All you need is flour and water and a little machine that makes those noddle strings out of the dough.

Ba-bam, 40 cent noodles of 2KG.

Make it brown rice. White rice fills you up, but doesn't offer much nutrition or fiber. Brown rice will make shitting into a wonderful and life affirming experience.

Get seasoning. I found that boiling the rice in V-8 juice or bouillon (plus cumin, onions, maybe some diced tomatoes in the $.85 cans).

Making your own spaghetti sauce rocks, and tastes better than any of that paul newman faggoty packaged shit.

Beans and rice + eggs + salsa + a fried banana = one of the best breakfasts you'll ever eat.

Ethnic groceries are pretty much your best friend--all that Kraft bullshit will kill you mang.

These techniques and others have allowed me to fuck around with business ideas and art projects for years without getting a real job, and turned me into a sexual tyrannosaurus. Buy my book now for only 19.95 + shipping.

>but srsly, eating well is a worthy investment. Eating cardboard "noodles" and salt will just make you feel sick and sluggish. Money comes and goes, but you only get one body.

>> No.264628

Top ramen is literally the worst way to save money.

No one cares about how much money you have if you're having a heart attack at 35 years old and your colon is full of polyps and you can barely walk because your muscles have atrophied due to malnourishment your entire life.

The point of money is to spend it on things you want and need to survive and enjoy life. I don't mean eating out and I don't mean buying fresh steak and lobster every night, but jesus christ, at least put a few more dollars in and take care of your body. It's the only thing that matters in the world to you.

why don you try a cookbook for cheap meals?

Hope you're not joking.

But yeah, nutritious tasty food does not have to be expensive. Many of your favorite foods (pizza, spaghetti and meatballs, tacos) were invented by poorfags who had to make do with simple ingredients.

It's certainly more work than buying fast food or slapping an expensive steak on the grill, but you can also make a big pot of delicious stew and eat it in different ways.

>pot roast with veggies
>becomes beef stew, beef sandwiches, BBQ beef, shepherd's pie, etc.

I'm lucky to be one of those weirdos who can eat the same meal for a week and not get tired of it.

Don't forget to treat yourself once in a while too. Good food and good sex make a body right.

Listen buddy, food is NOT where you want to be a cheap fucker. Get eggs, milk, fruit, veggies, meat and stock up on basics like salt and different spicery. Make meals out of those things.

Drink tap water. You can save tons of money by doing that and it is healthy.

>> No.264780

It's not even that cheap. If you were to eat dried goods, like oats, pasta, peas and beans, you'd be better fed and it would cost less.

Oh, and you wouldn't die of hypertension and cancer at 29.

OP, I recommend that you wait until fruits, vegetables, and cereals go on sale.

If you in to couponning, you can regularly buy cereal for $1.50 to $2.00 and I've gotten 40 boxes of cherrios, chex, corn flakes and all the non sugary boxes of cereal for $0.50 each. (Best to try in the month of September, which involved getting coupons in August and September for future reference).

I mean, if you're into getting grain, which is what ramen is, you might as well get the cereal which is cheaper and has less salt in it. (or at least don't use the salt packets in those things).

Also, you're going to need the fruits and vegetables to stay healthy. I used to be a bread addict and I got fucked up a couple times before I realized I was overloading on the shit.

Coupon and watch out for sales. And do consider eggs and veggies....

Funny how the most obese and unhealthy people in the world criticize ramen noodles that are eaten throughout Asia with no ill effects.

There are far more foods worse than ramen, let's put this in proportion.

To the OP, I recommend Korean or Japanese ramen, especially the Korean ones come in many incredible varieties.

If you want to up the nutrition, throw in a can of tuna or some frozen veggies. Makes a helluva hearty meal.

When you buy the noodles separate it's much cheaper. When you make them, it costs nearly nothing. The basics of food is extremely cheap (vegetables, grains, oils, spices, etc.), much more so than fast food or instant food. If you go to the right store (farmer's market and bulk) it wouldn't compare to ramen.

Plain packaged ramen is high in sodium and has little to no nutritional value; you'd become dehydrated and ill from malnutrition if you only eat ramen. Actually getting your own ingredients will give you adequate nutrition, you won't get colon cancer, and will spend much less money. You'll just have to cook it yourself and not be completely retarded when it comes to preparation. Are you too lazy for that, OP?

peas with boiled rice and chilli sauce.
sausages, mashed potatoes and vegetables
spaghetti, garlic, olive oil, peas

beans, minced beef, and rice.
Mi Goreng, peas, egg.
fried rice ommlette.
stir fry vegetables and rice.

You could eat sooo much cheaper than that. If you have a Smith's or Kroger in your area try there first. Print out coupons. Coupons are your best friend. I spent fifty dollars on food and I have a full refrigerator. I made three gallons of chili, cost me about $7. I made macaroni and cheese casserole in a 9x12 pan, $6. I also bought 10 rockstars for $10, but that's my personal addiction haha. They also have snack bags that are easily 3 portions for $1. Huge fan. And for christ sake don't spend that much on top ramen!!! I got 24 for $4.80. I also got lots a fruits and vegetables. I eat fairly healthy for someone who is totally broke. It's worth it. And don't go to wal mart if you can help it. They're starting to charge significantly more that anyone else for food.
