The car losses something like 20% of its value as soon as you drive it off the lot. If you absolutely want a "new" car, you should buy one that's 3-5 years old at best. They'll still be under warranty and shouldn't have many problems. I wanted a new car, so I splurged on a 2010 a few years ago.
