What are the fundamentals that underpin this Chainlink shit? I can’t help but feel it’s like every other utility token that has genuine technology behind it but the token itself being nothing but a fundraising mechanism for the organisation behind it.
Chainlink tokens have no ambitions to be a currency, a resource or an asset. So what’s the expectation that they’ll increase in value?

Happy to be proven wrong. I just don’t understand the hype.

I'm too tired to spoonfeed rn, but there are a lot of resources out there. Read the whitepaper from start to finish, watch Sergey's more recent talks, Coin Bureau review, stuff like that. The key things you need to understand are: the oracle problem, cybil attacks, economic incentives of implicit and explicit staking, smart contracts, and applications in derivatives. Also network effects and Link's aquired tech (DECO etc.). If you can understand each of those pieces, you'll get it.

I bought relatively late, between 5 and 6 dollars. And looking at my portfolio now, I can't complain. Link seems to be all that it was originally shilled as.
