As long as black markets, tax evasion, money laundering and rouge states exist, absolutely.

With atomic swaps it'll be easy: swap into smaller amounts of BTC and cash out over time.

you either let it grow within the dark web and illegal spaces or you accept it in the mainstream. it's a win-win.

I don't know how idealistic the developers like Fluffy Pony are, but I doubt he wants to be forced to move, or die. The threat of death to all his loved ones might be enough to convince him to sabotage the software. I don't think most people realize how far the banksters who control gov't are willing to go.

yeah, point is sabotaging it is really really hard and someone would notice almost immediately, that's the point of having everything decentralized and open source

When I say sabotage the software, I mean like convincing the other developers to adopt a feature that seems good on the surface, but faulty on further examination.

There are 7 lead developers: 5 have chosen to remain anonymous while 2 have opted to make themselves known.

So the government could "get" only 2 and others would undoubtedly take their place and remain anonymous from there on out.

Monero devs are crypto and OPSEC experts, these people know how to stay hidden.

Guys I know nothing about investing in crypto but I know about Monero from the black market and that's what makes me wanna buy. I'll probably accumulate and wait for it to boom, it's the only crypto I really want. And maybe link, but I need to research that one more.

welcome to the club! i'm in kinda the same boat, came for monero and am picking everything else up along the way.
look in the general for an exchange you can use(preferably non kyc), and use that to either a) buy monero, or b) buy bitcoin and exchange that for monero.

>> No.26318525

Just buy some and throw it in a cold wallet, it's impossible to predict how it will go.

However, if you are looking for quick gains, then this is not it
