You can always stake 600 now and add 400 more when you buy them, you can add to your delegated stack at any time. You'd earn a little GRT in the meantime. The only downside is that you'll be burning more Eth by doing the transactions for delegating twice, and currently gas prices are pretty high (it wanted a $25 gas limit for me for "Average" transaction speed, but it ended up using $7) so if that seems steep (it kind of is) then waiting until you can delegate your 1k stack in one transaction is certainly an option.
