its pretty bad now, all current gen cards are only on ebay, 2.5x retail. nicehash had a blog on most profitable miner, which is 8x3060, will pay about 1k per month. Its more than that now at current eth price, you would need to spend something like 8-9k right now to get the parts, it would take 7 months to break even.

wtf are you on about? what about it is garbage? 3060's are super efficient power utilization for the hash rate and if you were able to get cards at retail its pretty mint. Obviously 3090ti would be best, but its way more upfront, more power supplies, etc..and you can't even get these parts anyways..
