This is what concerns me. Free market equilibrium. People will flow into this until the returns even out with a money market return.
In a perfect world, we'd get a decent premium, because the underlying asset is a highly volatile new and, from avery long term perspective, untested product; however, this asset is available to anyone in Guatemala with an internet connection, unlike oil exploration etf's or whatever.
The only thing that will keep the returns high is explosive growth in utilization and the cost of gas making small stacks undelegatable.

The above issues compounded with the 10billion token supply make me nervous.

Can a big dick holder unfud my thought process please?

Really if you want to "make it" you should start thinking in terms of passive income instead of lump sums. If you get a million, you just have that million. You pay taxes on it, and you're left with 700k. You buy a house and you're left with 300k. Can you live on 300k for the rest of your days? You're gonna go back to wage slavery. Yeah I was thinking somewhere between 2/3 daily. Am I right in thinking this compounds? If so in 2 years it should be sitting at around 7000/8000 GRT right? I think that's a good proposition even with Gas, I can see the price sitting at $4/5 by then.

Still, his purchasing power is much lower than ours westerners.
Also crypto prices are global, they don't adjust locally for purchasing power, I'm a student in France, I get 488€ per month, more than double his salary, still I can't afford more than ~100€ worth of crypto so I have to work my way up with altcoins.

>> No.26207795

>>26207594
Yup. It compounds. Any GRT earned get added back to your stack in the delegation thus increasing your reward. The only thing to consider is that your reward is a proportion of your total ownership of the whole index. So if everyone sticks around same as you, you might not increase your reward totals. As in if 5k gets you 2.5 today it might still get you 2.5 at 10k. But it's possible that the way indexes are rewarded might be a function of how big the stack is.

As near as I can tell, it ain't that type of operation. Any fud that pops gets put out pretty quick, with the fudder themselves generally agreeing with most of the arguments, and the numbers seem to generally make some real world sense without moon and doomsday style scenarios being injected into math.
It is a weird feeling though, right? For the first time in crypto history, it's just like, "yes, this is a sensible investment". It stepped out of Barrons and into the cryptosphere.

We’re already at a comfy $.56-$.60 but even if this hits $4.00 in a year or two, that’s only a ~6x from now. That’s not enough to make it anons. Any predictions for a 10 year hodl? Does this have the potential to run up into double or triple digits?

How the fuck does having a coin allows indexer to compute shit that they coudl'nt compute without it

>> No.26210249

>>26209991
It's not computing that earns reward. It's trust. Proof of stake. The indexers provide a queryable index using their hardware. But because you could fuck up entire markets by providing something like inaccurate pricing data through your api, you want to be a trusted source. You do this by having 100k of your own tokens (minimum) at risk as well as the support of other delegators to say "yeah I trust this source". If they find out an indexer is fucking around, they can fine their tokens. As an incentive to take on the cost of hosting an index (like 8k in hardware alone if you go bargain bin) they reward you tokens. They say it's 3% annual inflation. The total an indexer gets is proportional to their size in relation to the whole.

>> No.26210290

>>26209991
It doesn't, its a reward mechanism so the best indexer's who query the highest amount of data with the lowest fees would get the most delegates, since it's a free market.

The only hinderance is the 28 day unbonding period where no interest is given, so you can't constantly move around to different indexers
