you can totally do it, getting your P.Geo and doing exploration work for other companies, than going off on your own is the standard for most of these junior explorers and miners. However, you cant really do it alone, you will have to setup a corporate company to get properly operating in different countries. Regulations are different all over the world, concessions versus mining claims etc. To be honest its easier to set up shop in a country like canada, find a project to advance than move on to other countries. Do you have recommendations on what form of silver to buy? I bought 3 1kg coin bars of silver and 75 1oz coins last year. I was expecting the silver bars to be better value for money but im checking buy/ask prices here (european country) regularly and it seems to be the opposite. The bars have a lower premium on the spot price but the sell value is at least 10% lower than the buy (if you sell at commercial dealers). For coins the premium is higher then bars but the sell value is only like 5% below the cost of buying. So why bother with bars or am i forgetting something? I dont want to sell but why should I pay for bars if the spread is higher and the flexibility is lower?

Short answer is no, long answer is no. Look at the housing price charts of pre-2007 and today and you'll start to see a pattern. The economy is in a delicate balance right now and if the millions people who bought overpriced houses start defaulting on their payments even though those are very low interest loans, we'll see a repeat of the 2008 crisis. The only way around that is to institute UBI or outlaw foreclosures and evictions (again). If inflation starts running rampart and the cost of living goes up, you bet that salaries will not keep pace as they never have kept up with real inflation, and suddenly that $3500 monthly payment on a piece of shit suburban house you bought with nearly no money down becomes more and more difficult to pay even if the government is giving you an extra $600 every couple months.

It might be different depending on markets but in my market (South Florida) the last year prices were sane was 2016 or 2017; since then, things have gone bonkers.

My advice would be to divert whatever money you're saving for a downpayment into a safe store of value, wait until prices adjust and then go for a loan. If your credit is good and you're employed, you won't have much trouble getting a loan; and since the FED can't raise interest rates ever again, you won't be missing out much.

Hard to say by how much the prices will drop once we have a correction in the real estate market, but remember that we're living through an "Everything bubble" where major asset classes are at the highest they've ever been. Once one pops, there will be a domino effect no doubt.

Since markets aren't all the same, my suggestion to you is to find a home that you're interested in then load up the county's Property Appraisal website. All the counties where I operate have this easily accessible, so I can see the transaction history for that property, the property taxes and more importantly the assessed property value - what the county uses to calculate your taxes. This is will almost always be under the "Fair market value" of the property, the number you will usually see listed on Zillow or Redfin for example. That's usually a conservative estimate of what the property might cost.

I have a property that I bought in '10 for 32k that's valued today at 270k, with pretty much no improvements done to it besides make it livable (it was a dump before), so that might give you an idea for how bonkers the market currently is.

There are tons of fake coin sellers on eBay, but plenty of legit dealers too. Always check the fake Ancient Coin sellers lists like http://www.forumancientcoins.com/board/index.php?topic=18502.0 for their username and research the coins too. Plenty of genuine Roman silver denarii can be had for $20-30 but most aren't high grade or appealing.

What is out there in mining these days for a guy with a BS in geology? I graduated two years ago with almost a 4.0 major GPA but no research or internships. I really should have made more of it when I was in, but I was trying to blast through it. Right after I graduated I got into flying for a living, but that is not a great industry to be in right now so I'm looking at doing something else.

Most of my classmates are working dead end jobs, but most of them have something keeping them tied to a specific region or don't want to be outside.

Is there much out there in mining for someone where I'm at? I've done a fair bit of magnetic survey for a project. I'm also confident that I don't know everything there is to know about field work but I don't mind mapping a bit. I don't mind being wherever either, trying to make shit work overseas is actually kind of fun for a while.

Also, whether I started job hunting now or got a masters does being good with equipment count for anything? I've got plenty of time running dozers and oddball equipment being a farm kid.

I'd love to break into that, but its closed up a lot in the last year. It'll open up like crazy though sooner or later, maybe even to the point where a one man show charter operation could do okay. Flying tourists to camps is not doing great because of corona, and air tours were not doing great before that because of a few really terrible preventable crashes with tour planes. My information on the North slope is a little outdated, but Conoco cancelled a lot of their contracts for airplanes, and one of the big charter operators folded. All of that came together to put a lot of qualified pilots on the street looking for work.

Also really before you buy anything, ask permission to view and wander the property yourself, a lot of these guys wont let you, because they know the photos wont match or other bs. These are reasonably priced for a placer claim, but I would have to actually go on the ground to tell you which is best. Do your research on the area and look up what the old timers were looking for, and see if that matches whats being sold here.

As for your other part yes the gov already wants photos of physical work, but they will now want to do a yearly site visit to corroborate you actually did what you say you did. To many people bullshiting reports digging holes in road ditches and such. In BC you can get a claim from the government for $100, but the going rates for interesting land here is around $1500-5k again you have to really do your home work on this, you dont want to buy empty land!

Bump it to no less than 250 oz of silver while you can. Ensure you have both 1oz coins, 1/2 oz coins, and a few 1/4th coins. The sources which I know only give generic statements like "interest-bearing international bonds, backed by their silver holdings." I always thought of the bonds as being basically a new PM-backed currency, a return to a silver standard where you have silver substitutes which are essentially claim-cheques on the underlying metal. Not directly redeemable into silver like the old ones, but obliged to pay the value of the silver over time in fiat.
