This is actually the simplest way to choose winning coins. Try to explain how the project will be profitable - if you can't its got no future. China military patenting IOTA applications isn't worth anything because it's the chinks. OMG standardizing IOTA structures isn't worth anything because OMG is on the decline. EU2020 projects aren't worth anything because EU is overrun by refugees.

I was introduced to Nano when it was Raiblocks. It was just as fast then as it is today.

Nano just doesn't have the sex appeal that other coins like iota has. It does one job and does it very well, but I don't think that's enough. They have a big problem with adoption.

I ultimately want:
> Feeless
> Private transactions
> Smart contracts
> Widespread adoption

Nano only checks the first box.

IOTA is going to be the backbone of the machine to machine economy that is pretty much undisputable at this point, no other system is even close to IOTA in that race.
There is also the 'synthetic economy' which IOTA has not really staked its claim on but i believe that a literal infinite market will definitley have a few trillion up for grabs by IOTA.

That can be said for any cryptocurrency though. Nano is too narrow in scope which is why it will not be adopted. There are easier alternatives (Venmo, etc.) that don't involve price fluctuations.

Anon has a good summary:

I wouldn't be surprised if iota pivots to peer to peer though. But their efforts towards corporate partnerships certainly drives adoption/value.

IOTA is so far ahead of regular blockchains that many have a difficult time grasping the full implications of this technology and the depth of the ecosystem. It will become apparent to many more soon with Chrysalis update and other huge news in the pipeline

The main vision of IOTA that i rarely see discussed here, and also the most impactful usecase for us everyday people, is the ownership and privitization of our own data.
These companies are making $10,000 per person selling our data that we give them for free. IOTA will give us the control to distribute our data only to who we want and also be compensated for it. It's not really. With IOTA you will be able to create and anonymous and private yet trusted digital identity.
You will be able to fill this with all data you collect, from location, social, work data and any other you can think of. This can then be bid on and bought by companies and governments within parameters that you set yourself.
Data is the new oil that will run the next stage of civilisation and it's pouring out of all of us.

>> No.26175419

>>26174918

I can see personal data being used for verification purposes, but I don't think people would be comfortable selling their data like that.

>> No.26175714

>>26175419
You don't have to sell a single 'iota' of your data if you don't want, but the point is that you can set the parameters of what you sell, who to, how much, for how long etc.
I think it's an infinitely more appealing situation than what we currently have which is that Facebook, google, netflix and amazon, to name just a few, take our data, profit off it and we have no idea who has it, for what purpose and then who they share it to.
IOTA is going to completely revolutionize the data marketplace.
