It's a dead company only propped up by recent hype. Pivoting to "security company" does not warrant such an uptick in valuation. Just like Apple didn't become an EV company with an 1000 P/E overnight just because they said so.
QNX is not as popular as people seem to think, automotives are starting to ditch it one by one. It's also not a great revenue stream, because automotive OEMs are super stingy and only pay pennies.
The AWS car cloud thing is pure PR. Automotives hate that kidn of shit, they always go with in-house cloud stuff.
It's been losing money for years, and this will continue.

Tl;DR: Nice hype PnD. Ride the wave, exit at top. Do NOT hold long term.

Alright ding dong, here you go
>Should I put money in big weed?
Infinite bag holding. Even with decriminalization it is still federally illegal. Papa Biden can decide to just fuck Colorado/Washington/Oregon/Pot states by calling the head of the DEA literally anytime. If you catch wind of upcoming cannabis vote in house/senate that is a good time to buy some cannabis stocks. Otherwise, its a 10+ year bag
>ETF's
Automatically diversified, just don't pick shitty industries. Not a bad way to do it but the expense ratio will eat some gains, most ETF's are safe long holds tho
>experiment with how the market works
Best reason to start investing now imo, build skills + experience + learn how things work with smaller stack.
>Should I get airlines?
With all the discount covid stocks available, I don't think airlines are the play. Still massive risk of down spikes, will be literally the last industry to return to normal, and the potential profits aren't as good as oil. Lots of 2-3x's in oil for recovery stocks, most airlines I've seen are a 1.5x for the recovery payout. Cruise liners, movie theaters, amusement parks, all potential covid recovery plays. Just don't sink your stack in too early, if you have to wait for 3 months before the rebound might as well as make money elsewhere in that 3 months before catching the recovery tailwinds.

At an intrinsic level stock trading is a form of gambling, you risk assets in order to achieve the potential reward of increased assets.
There are essentially three types of gamblers.

1. Risk takers, in stock terms these are people like CLF tranny and kpop schizo, they make extremely risky calls and risk going bankrupt. They may make lots of money in the short run but eventually they get cocky and lose everything due to cognitive biases and thinking that they're invulnerable
2. Risk avoidants, they put everything into ETFs and mutual funds and settle for barely making any money every year, but at least they rarely lose anything
3. Actually competent people, they understand when to take risks and when not to take risks, people like Warren Buffet who actually make it

I put $1250 into some ETF on Vanguard and its allegedly grown to around $1550, I didn't think returns were that big and I still don't know what I'm looking at on their site. A friend showed me Stash and now I'm doing everything on there, much more user friendly.

First, it's Traditional IRA or Roth IRA. Those are two different things, even though they share the same $6k-total-contribution-per-year cap space.

>Wouldn't that be more beneficial over the 30 years working?
How would adding *less* money to your retirement savings be *more* beneficial?

My point is this: assume you have, like $10,000 pretax available to save and you're taxed at 22%. Going traditional means $6k in traditional, plus $4k*78%=$3120 left over for your taxable, non-IRA brokerage.

Going Roth means your $10k pretax => $7800 with $6k in the Roth and $1800 taxable. Less of your funds are subject to the taxable account's less favorable rules (taxes on dividends, more vulnerable to future tax hikes, etc.)

3. Merger: Dump or Pump depending on the merger deal and share structure
SPACs are a way to IPO something without revealing much of what is under the hood like an ATM stock offering. That can hide a lot of bad news until first earnings.
So it is USUALLY the case that there is a lot of profit taking.

Well honestly I don't think investment is something people can learn. If you're intelligent, rational, and can control your emotions you can be successful, but if you don't have those qualities no amount of advice will help. Control of your emotions is probably more important than general intelligence, the reason most people lose money trying to trade stocks is because they can't control themselves and panic sell.

Hi. Instead of trading on Monday I will jerk off in front of my wife until she feels coerced to finish me off. This will happen because I am about to go out and buy some vodka which will allow me to muster up the courage to jerk off in front of her as she watches TV. This is what happens when we don't get to trade on Monday. This is what happens when you give niggers holidays and validate their humanity.

Both options give me similar take home pay. Wouldn't the extra contribution over the long run be the better option. So in this case the traditional would be my best option

Weed is a multi billion dollar market with just a few states legalized. When all of the USA finally legalizes and it is is federally legal the market will probably approach the size of what Alcohol and tobacco once was. You're looking at 10's of billions of $$$ in size. Consider CO, it's done 2 billion in sales and that is one state. It's only inevitable that it will be fully legalized in the next couple of years. The biggest players will be the ones who basically control the market. Thankfully, most Americans can't keep a fucking house plant alive so they won't be growing it themselves.

Airlines will come back, ffsakes no one even stopped flying during the plague. They are basically flying at year 2000 seat capacity. It was only in the last 3-5 years that air travel went fucking insane. I beleive it will bounce back strong once the the Chink Flu is in control. People want to fucking go places.....With that said, you missed the bottom in Airline stocks but there is still room to growth. AA, Delta, United, Southwest are all good bets. Delta was exposed the most internationally along with United. They took a huge hit. Delta also made some stupid moves with LATAM and buying their own refinery.

MSOS is good etf play for an Investment.

The big airlines are all ok too.

If you want to make BIG money here's what you do. Take it or leave it. You need at least $20M for this strategy. Buy as many cheap weed companies as possible, restructure them to make half of them go for volume and the other half for quality. Wait for weed to be federally legalized, sell out all of the companies to the big players like Marlboro when they decide to go balls deep into the weed business. Easy $1B profit.

I like and continue to use Vanguard, I don't mind the 20 minute delay on ticker times and it is nice to have everything together and I find the information to be useful. I imagine many anons will disagree, but just find something you like to use. Look for no fees on your broker though, many flock to Robinhood for this reason. Fees won't bother big stack investors as much but they eat a greater % portion of your 4 figure portfolio compared to Joe Cool's 8 figure portfolio.
>Finished Rich Dad Poor Dad, what read?
Another suggestion likely to catch flack from anons but if you found RDPD to be helpful check out I Will Teach You to be Rich by Ramit Sethi. Math driven approach to personal finance, things like how to get good credit and how it effects you, how buying/financing a house works, various investment vehicles and how they work. It won't be as helpful if you're a cryptokiddie looking to hit your moonshot to 100x, but I'd recommend this book to 99% of people I meet anywhere for personal finance. I can also recommend Murray Rothbard's Man Economy and State if you want a full intelligent layman's guide to economics, the knowledge has proved profitable to me. I can also recommend Economics in One Lesson by Henry Hazlitt for a much more manageable read on economics, Economics in One Lesson has probably the single best description of how inflation works of anything I've read.

SPACs still fare worse than average market investment vehicles. Of the 313 SPACs IPOs since the start of 2015, 93 have completed mergers and taken a company public. Of these, the common shares have delivered an average loss of -9.6% and a median return of -29.1%, compared to the average aftermarket return of 47.1% for traditional IPOs since 2015. Only 29 of the SPACS in this group (31.1%) had positive returns as of Jan 2021. SPACs are a novel investment vehicle so they have ways to go but its just objectively true that SPACs are not as safe as a lot of other plays.

Alright, so just to be clear, IRAs (traditional or Roth) are things you setup and run on your own, separate from work.

It sounds like you're talking about your 401k, which is offered through work. Some employers will let you choose between traditional or Roth options for those just like with IRAs (but most of the time your only choice is traditional). 401k's are also generally worse because you're limited to the funds the employer offers - you can't invest in any stocks you want, willy nilly.

The two advantages of putting money in 401k's are: employer matching (free money which you should always take) and additional cap space (you know how you can only contribute $6k to your IRA this year? Totally separate from that you can contribute $19.5k to your 401k).

That all said, you probably want to max out your employer's matching offer on the 401k and, if money's left over, put the remaining dollars into your Roth IRA (for the flexibility and tax diversification).

He's the guy who says the rich doesn't pay enough taxes whiles spending million on accountants to exploit all of the loop holes.

He also tells people to invest in index funds when he got his wealth from hand picking stocks. It's likely his stocks in in his Berk stocks are in said index funds, so when people buy index funds his wealth goes up.

ok. no problem anon. I was just doing some DD last night and wanted to hear other perspectives. I dont see any catalysts for this company can pump or dump long term. They already have products and customers. I just think it might have significant upside if regulation happens. No need to be so paranoid. Take your meds.

Seriously, I had 300k diversified like you should. This millionaire I worked with who was 4 years younger than me taught me diversity is for multi millionaires. He laughed at me for buying apple and Netflix, I laughed at him with 50% gains, but it was on 20k each. That’s when I learned he was write. Put everything on BABA in 2019, doubled to 600k, the through 4 different plays turned that 600k into a couple mil in 2020.

OK, then you probably want to have 8% going into your 401k (to collect all those matching dollars - that's an instant 100% or 50% return on your investment) as traditional contributions (so you tie as little money up in your 401k's limited investment choices as needed), then all the dollars you can save after that going into a Roth IRA (for max flexibility and as a hedge against future tax hikes).

If after maxing your Roth IRA you still have money to save, bump up your 401k contributions or switch it to a Roth.

My broker doesn't have any kind of visualization.
If it makes you happy, I'm up 150% last year and about 70% ytd. I know lots of people who are very successful. One of them was up 300% in 2020. He's doing that much longer than me already. You simply have to work on it and figure out how the game works in depth. Surface level memery doesn't get you very far. Many newfags always try to find some kind of general method, quant strategy or whatever like if(...){ buy } else{ sell } but that doesn't work. That's all bullshit. Stocks are fuzzy as fuck.

Currently looking into a new strategy of using LEAPs for leverage
I found that slightly ITM LEAPs on SPY get a roughly 3.6X leverage.
About to look into LEAPs on SPXL for scoring 6X to 9X leverage.

I hear you, but risk=reward is a real double edged sword. Where we were lucky is we we’re both making 200k year so a 50k loss was shitty but not truly life affecting. But gaining 50k on my 300k also wasn’t life changing.
I don’t know man, I took a 700k loss on Dec 16th till last week, I know I played the whole thing wrong. But I was up so much it didn’t hurt, and If you have a system that works play it. But have no doubt, once I hit my goal of 3.3 mil which I’m 27% from, nothing but utilities and index funds on anything but some play cash.

What are you talking about here? Are you referring to those risk ratios for margin calls?
I don’t use margin, and plan to avoid ever using it because of margin calls, but I have seriously considered personal loans if I can find a sufficiently solid backtested strategy.
