Lots of new friends in here recently. To all the new friends browsing this board:

First off, welcome!

I know all of this seems really new and a bit disheartening, but don't worry, I got you. It's very simple: it is too late for you to get into Link, anything below 10k link just isn't worth it (you will often see this amount refered to as a "suicide stack" here). But no sweat folks, you can still make it if you buy one of the followings: XRP, RLC, PNK, ADA, VET. Or just play it secure and grab a bag of BTC or ETH.

Trade carefully, and looking forward to discussing all of this with you guys!

Sorry anon, might have been a bit technical there haha. Well then sure yes just buy bitcoin, now is a great time

>> No.26070597

>>26070518
Both are great, maybe grab a bag of each. Diversification is key here, ideally always hold 5 or ten coins

Wouldn’t newfriends buying make your linkies go up though?

Okay from what i've read from the past few days is that Electrum + physical wallet is a decent start. So once I download Electrum, I buy the bitcoins from there - and then send it to my physical wallet?

I'm not looking to trade or invest in any other alt coins

>> No.26070649

Actually good advice from OP

LINK already mooned, look into smaller caps like VET or CRO

Diversification in what? do you mean buying bitcoins from different websites? and why? what is wrong with just buying from just one? aren't bitcoins the same price everywhere?

No seriously anon, buy a trezor or a nano. Lookup tutorials on how to use them. Your crypto your keys, don't fuck this up.

There are lots of bitcoin, they can differ in quality, thus differing in price as well. On the top of my head you have bitcoin, bitcoin cah, bitcoin sv, bitcoin gold, wrapped bitcoin, etc...
Maybe try getting one of each

Is there anything wrong just going with OG bitcoin? thinking of putting 30k in when the next big dip happens, not familiar with these other coins since I keep hearing most are just scams

you should also look up bip38 paper wallets
the reason i recommending it is, secure redundancy will never be so affordable any other way. also while bitcoin addresses are somewhat quantum resistant in a quantum supremacy setting a deterministically generated hierarchic private key (anything seed based really) can be generated from any other private key from the same hierarchy and once you transact a single time your pubkey is exposed... basically you are fucking screwed if quantum computers become a thing and you trust these gadgets. but you can also get screwed a dozen other ways with them.

secure redundancy means you store your secret securely (from theft or confiscation) and at multiple locations so a single disaster won't destroy them all.

for inheritance and stuff also look up shamirs for secret sharing!

I suggest everyone new here don't buy any of the alts OP listed.
He is trying to trick you into forever bagholding useless coins.

I've got around 500€ to put into crypto. Btc, eth all seem so expensive rn. Should I wait to get in when the bull run is over or should I buy smaller more risky coins now?
I own 640 xrp rn and I was thinking about buying an other 360xrp to own 1000...

This is the correct answer. IF there are newfags here, just DYOR, start slow, DONT get FOMO - nothing becomes unbuyable forever if you have to wait a while and lurk 2 years before posting.
