Several things.
1. If the company provided the stock in the first place, it will be written in your contract if you are under special rules for buying or selling
2. If you are brokering the buyout agreement in some way (i.e. you are involved in negotiating the terms even as staff) then that is illegal.
3. If you just hear through internal rumors, it reaches a gray area to the extent that it is insider trading. Likely won't see trouble unless you have a suspiciously larger position.
4. The terms of the buyout determine if its good or not. If your company is humming along nicely and not at threat of bankruptcy than a buyout will usually mean getting either shares in the new company or straight cash at a high "premium" (higher value than the shares are trading at) to reward shareholders of the bought out company.

The key will be if you are in bullet point 3 ("Tipper/Tippee") or point 4 ("Outsider). In short, it depends on the circumstances. And legal interest will rise the more you seek to gain out of it.

if you're on /biz/ in the first place the best advice i can give you is just look at suggested stocks and do your own research on them. a lot of shit is clutter (e.g. CLFfag and the shilling for every blank check company) and some makes vague sense (GME short squeeze and UUUU long hold). just filter out the noise.

That being said, they have their uses. That anon was wise to say don’t gamble with weekly options. The key in my experience has been, always go for a longer strike date than you think you’ll need. Expiry is the death of any option. If you’re very confident in a long position on a stock and want to add some leverage, and can handle the risk, then yeah buy a few calls very far down the road.

On the one hand, you are accessing a portal only accessible internally to Amazon employees. On the other hand, it is just a job posting. It says nothing about if the deal is done, when it would happen, or anything about a buyout. It might not even be a buyout but a partnership (which might still set that other company's shareprice high, but it might also not).
The more unknowns here ("is it finalized?", time of deal, extent of deal, etc.), the _less_ likely you could get in trouble with insider trading. But do understand that because its easy to tie your actions to material gain that you have to use your judgement here.

My take (and again, I am NOT a lawyer) is that there is so much uncertainty about the data and your position (in shares) so small that you likely won't attract much attention. Because there is a very real chance that this deal doesn't go through or it isn't actually a deal at all given the odd snapshot you got into it. Insider trading is about "guaranteed success". The more likely you fall flat on your face the more this is just speculating on a hunch from a random software glitch. Its so on the periphery you could probably argue that you already had an interest in [XXX-YYY] which is why you looked at the posting anyway. Just don't involve friends or family in this.
