All of you that think it's going to dip below a dollar never happening. So you can either get on the train or you can miss the train, because we're scraping bottom here. We're about to go, within two months we'll be at three. Within six months we'll be at five. Within eight months we'll be at eight, okay. Within twelve months we'll be at fifteen. If you are serious, then good luck. But 99.9999% of people who end up in homeless shelters are completely whacked out on drugs, or mentally disturbed. You do end up with the super rare case of someone who is just going through rough times.

Watch your back and do not let anyone there know you have any kind of money in an investment account. Do not let anyone there know you have anything of value whatsoever.

Several things.
1. If the company provided the stock in the first place, it will be written in your contract if you are under special rules for buying or selling
2. If you are brokering the buyout agreement in some way (i.e. you are involved in negotiating the terms even as staff) then that is illegal.
3. If you just hear through internal rumors, it reaches a gray area to the extent that it is insider trading. Likely won't see trouble unless you have a suspiciously larger position.
4. The terms of the buyout determine if its good or not. If your company is humming along nicely and not at threat of bankruptcy than a buyout will usually mean getting either shares in the new company or straight cash at a high "premium" (higher value than the shares are trading at) to reward shareholders of the bought out company.

Gray area depending on context. It is entirely possible to commit insider trading by accident. Read this first:
The key will be if you are in bullet point 3 ("Tipper/Tippee") or point 4 ("Outsider). If you work for AMZN and you received insider information about AMZN buying out company X; then acted on that knowledge because you knew the information source directly that would establish mens rea. But its still very hazy especially if you avoid playing on that information with options. It might also be murky if there is no known date or if its not guaranteed. Etc. An outsider that neither works for AMZN or Company X (and is not contracted out to either) usually can if the information source is not known.
In short, it depends on the circumstances. And legal interest will rise the more you seek to gain out of it.

It’s gambling, kid. Pick the right horse(s) and you’ll make a killing. Pick the wrong ones and you’ll get wrecked. The majority of investors who start tangling with options get wrecked.

That being said, they have their uses. That anon was wise to say don’t gamble with weekly options. The key in my experience has been, always go for a longer strike date than you think you’ll need. Expiry is the death of any option. If you’re very confident in a long position on a stock and want to add some leverage, and can handle the risk, then yeah buy a few calls very far down the road.

>What are your thoughts on LEAPS or is that the same thing as a 'long call'?
LEAPs are calls that are already intrinsically valuable and give you leverage (multiplication power of invested capital) while limiting downside risk unless the ticker itself goes to zero. The deeper ITM the call the less sensitive to vola changes your gains are.
Long calls are intrinsically worthless, with the hope that they gain intrinsic value in the future. Extremely sensitive to vola changes. Much of the value comes from buying low vola and selling high vola on upward momentum.

Not a securities lawyer but that is very murky middle ground.
On the one hand, you are accessing a portal only accessible internally to Amazon employees. On the other hand, it is just a job posting. It says nothing about if the deal is done, when it would happen, or anything about a buyout. It might not even be a buyout but a partnership (which might still set that other company's shareprice high, but it might also not).
The more unknowns here ("is it finalized?", time of deal, extent of deal, etc.), the _less_ likely you could get in trouble with insider trading. But do understand that because its easy to tie your actions to material gain that you have to use your judgement here.

That would definitely be insider trading even if neither of you shared your/the profits. Because the extra buffer by making a friend do it strongly implies you know or think what you are doing is wrong. It seems bizarre but it should make sense.
My take (and again, I am NOT a lawyer) is that there is so much uncertainty about the data and your position (in shares) so small that you likely won't attract much attention. Because there is a very real chance that this deal doesn't go through or it isn't actually a deal at all given the odd snapshot you got into it. Insider trading is about "guaranteed success". The more likely you fall flat on your face the more this is just speculating on a hunch from a random software glitch. Its so on the periphery you could probably argue that you already had an interest in [XXX-YYY] which is why you looked at the posting anyway. Just don't involve friends or family in this.

Yes. There's literally less radiation in a nuclear plant than outside due to the tick walls. You can swim in the pool they keep the rods in and be completely fine as long as you don't dive deeper than 2 meters. Nuclear Power ist the safest Form of power generation in human history.

So i read a bit about this RYCEY shill and guys.... You know.... I will honestly advice you to rather pump a bit into Norwegian air shuttle at this point. It's also heavily 737max and corona stricken company, but it has many advantages.

1. It just released recovery plan (that will mean slower recovery to lower heights, so don't salivate over the past performance, that won't be actual for several years if ever again)

2. It is pretty important service in the north of Norway and will be always to some extent supported by the government. They just applied for more help and it looks very much like they will get it.

3. ! BEWARE! They will be issuing new batch of stocks soon to cover a part of debt, so the price of the stock will be going down first! Wait after the release!

But at that point the price will be at it's lowest. And the company will be operating 35/150 planes with a realistic recovery plan. It will ofc depend on corona fucking off at some point. If we are still in lockdown for whole 2021, it might bankrupt, but that's kinda overall issue for all of us now..

I myself will be holding bags for many months before they reach green fields again now, but i want to hold them. I believe the company survives and my average price of NOK 73 will get to some 200-500 during months after corona.

I got some genuinely good advices and pitches here, so this is my contribution to our meme portfolio of corona related gambles.

He is right even with idiots making powerplants in bad locations. Global nuclear has about 90 deaths per trillion kWh, wind has 150, oil has 36,000 and coal 100,000.

The reason we can't build new nuclear plants is because of fear mongering but that's also the reason why it's not worth discussing, it's almost unsurmountable at this point despite plants being safer than ever.

Nuclear power plants are built to such specifications that they are probably where you would want to go in the event of nearly any possible natural (and even most manmade) disasters. Fukushima Daini, Fukushima Daichi's sister plant (and closer to the epicenter), was used as the base camp for all rescue efforts after both an earthquake and tsunami knocked out many of the roads, power, and gas lines in the region.

It is pretty crazy how poorly the site was designed to allow the tsunami to get in and take out the backup generators once power was offline from the earthquake. They built the site to withstand a tsunami of just 3 meters, this one was 15 meters and they've had 38 meter tsunamis in the region before. I don't see nuclear becoming popular again without good generation IV reactors and a huge PR campaign to show that they're safe and that they cannot melt down from loss of power or active cooling, but even then I don't see it because the cost of building plants is so high that they no longer produce power that cheaply.

TEPCO is the Boeing of Japanese Nuclear power companies. The reason the backup generators had air intakes all on the ground level was because the plans for Daichi (and not Daini) were basically copy pasted from a Westinghouse design from Iowa. A region that doesn't have earthquakes or tsunamis.

As far as I am concerned their was a good ~15% inflation on the dollar over the official numbers and probably many other currencies it is being compared to.

may be partially offset by slightly less spending outside of the free gibs in some areas, it defiantly is not uniform.

I googled about the inflation topic and found articles that are generally talking about how it will hit real hard this year. Then I found a an article that just said you guys aren't really printing money and are actually shortening supply of the dollar which will actually pump it's price up which I gather isn't that great for stocks, but is still better than hyperinflation. There was also some talk about bonds which I don't know much about.
