in the absolute most simple terms, you are collecting interest for not moving your GRT

I just did whatever and getting 35% APY now. Pretty sick to think I will up my make it stack by a third in just one year by doing literally nothing.

The idea that is that a good indexer will be used more and thus have more people delegating their GRT to it saying that they're trustworthy and well-maintained. When someone does a query through their subgraph instance, there's a query fee similar to ETH gas. The indexer gets a cut and the rest is split up among the people delegating based on how much you have in the pool.

you have to keep track of it. youll see total values on GRT's delegation page but they dont calculate returns for you. i diversified into 5 indexers then did my own numbers before consolidating into the 2 best ones.

>>26055853
it's worth it if you dont plan on touching it for a long time.
i think minimum $500 to justify the gas fees.

>>26055855
checked
not really, unless the indexer is a jackass, but thats why you should DYOR. plus the way GRT network is designed, shitty indexers will get BTFO.

so if youre node falls offline do you lose your grt?

>> No.26056275

Would like to know this as well. What's the protocol when nodes go down?

>> No.26056290

>>26056179
not sure, im not finding any information for that scenario. youll probably have to ask GRT on twitter.

indexers have a lot of their own funds on the line so one would assume they wouldnt let going offline happen to begin with.

>>26056008
Are those percentages what you get once the fee cut is subtracted?
Do the percentags change over time?
Can the fee cuts be changed?
Delegating is non-custodial I assume

dont do this it makes mustard gas!!!!!!!!!!!

>> No.26056362

those are post-fee percentages based off real results.

yes, the indexer is allowed to change whenever they want. but DYOR and youll learn with indexers are trustworthy and which ones will backstab you. i dont remember which specific indexer but another GRTchad posted about someone increasing the reward fee the final moment before rewards were supposed to go out.

yes they can. for example one of the 2 indexers i consolidated into has been very slowly decreasing his fee %. he gets so much volume he can do it and still get good money.

aside from choosing which indexer yes it is non-custodial.

not necessarily. Your APY will go down if more people delegate to the same indexer.
If I were you I'd wait until the curators delegate their locked tokens (in 1-3 weeks) and then see which indexer has the highest APY.

you can't lose your GRT even if the indexer is a jackass. You might lose rewards though.

>so if youre node falls offline do you lose your grt?
As I understand it, no. You can potentially only lose rewards. I've also gone through chat history for this question, and the answer was no. I've DM'd an indexer now just to be sure. If the answer is anything other than 'no' i'll post it here.
