There is a lot of discussion on this available online, by people more knowledgeable than I am.

I personally think it's unpredictable technological threats (e.g. quantum computing) or economic shifts (e.g. markets deeming that crypto assets are heavily overvalued and not really useful, or otherwise superseded).

Governments are pretty shit at keeping up with tech. Regulation could cause bear markets but I don't think it would be global/uniform internationally nor do I think it would change the value proposition (so people would continue to trade it). I could be completely wrong though.

Despite the above, I am still betting about 1/3 of my net worth on crypto.

Watch a shit ton of videos / listen to them. I mean a LOT. When you're eating, cleaning, whatever. Don't focus too much on jargon at first, you'll hear a lot of memes and technical words. Just kind of let yourself be a sponge, don't get hung up on specific concepts and terminology. As you start to get familiarized with the general crypto ethos and coin names, eventually start looking up terms that you've noticed repeat over and over. Ledger was recently compromised so Trezor would probably be your best bet for a physical wallet. Physical wallets are the most secure (and the most expensive), but other wallets like Exodus and Trust are great for beginners and are still quite secure. I use Trust myself, both have apps you can download.

Coin Bureau is my personal favorite for easy to understand, well paced, digestible videos, but there are insightful guys like Lark Davis and Sheldon Evans, but Guy @ Coin Bureau is my personal favorite personality on CryptoTube. He definitely has a "I've already made it, just want to expand crypto because I believe in it" vibe.

Binance is a good exchange, esp if you're not based in the US. If you're in the US I'd probably pick between Coinbase (then move to Coinbase Pro) or Binance US.

I left my job before covid because of racial tension with coworkers. I got along with them, but they were starting to express /r/blackpeopletwitter and pro-black trends. I started to be someone they could not really talk social stuff to and the job stopped being fun. Then at home seeing my mom develop into a Trump supporter. And my best friend develop into a "Trump bad, Biden Good" dude. I watched them become slaves to their hormones and basic emotions.

Recently I was perma banned on Youtube and Reddit. And it gave me some time to reflect. Hey why am I wasting time with this? These sites don't want me to be myself, they're designed for me to be like everyone else. So it's been 3 weeks since I used reddit or replied to any youtube comments. Social media is dangerous. I still check /pol/ for news. But I don't really talk much on there.

As for the MMO habit. I was playing 12-16 hours a day, for a year straight. Eventually I dropped out of my game due to burn out. I haven't played in 4 months. I picked up Genshin Impact. Funny enough, it fills the void I desire from RPGs, but the gacha/mobile systems forces you to limit your playtime. I play for an hour and I logout. I haven't played more than 2 hours. It's been a godsend.

Now my mind is all about crypto. I want to make it.
