not very long, just find 5 low marketcap altcoins with a decent buy-in price and put however much money you have to spare divided up in each.

side note, youre not gonna make it rich by putting in chump change, youre going to want to put some scratch into it. a 50 dollar portfolio will not make you a millionaire unless you are the one in a million that somehow buys the next btc, which wont happen

I have 2000 I'm ready to spend but I don't want to blow it like a retard while I'm still not sure what I'm doing. I'm trying to learn as much about economics and the crypto market as I can, but I've only been doing that about 2 weeks. Any good resources would be appreciated.

I'm 21 and I don't want to be poor forever. My lifes pretty lame, I've just worked a shitty job since after highschool, but I currently live with my mom for free and am able to put all my cash into this. I'm already stuck poor, no reason not to risk it.

to make it short and simple, it kinda goes like this:

/biz/ will start posting about some altcoin. And I mean a lot; "xxx is going to the moon" "heavy buy resistance at xx.xx, we are NOT dropping below this" , etc. You should follow these coins and read up on them, but NOT if they are one time posted shitcoins made by pajeet scammers.
Once /biz/ starts posting pink wojack/bear threads about these coins, or saying shit like "this shitcoin is going to 0 like it deserves to", thats when you know you are getting close to when you should buy that coin.

Keep in mind that you wont win 100 percent of the time, and panic selling is for losers. If everybody could predict the future price of altcoins with complete accuracy, nobody would be posting on this board trying to 0 sum the fuck out of eachother

I actually put 350 on LINK already at 14 dollars. That's pretty much my only investment so far. I just wanted to have something to start with and seemed like the safest bet. Bitcoin seems like it could go bear soon so I don't feel safe buying.

I'm new so I started out on coin base, but I'm gonna probably get binance or kraken soon to put some money into shitcoins.

In addition, say you buy a shitcoin like tron and put 400 bucks into it at 5 cents per. And next day it crashes down to 0.001. Yeah, you're out 400 bucks, but it now has nowhere to go but up and WILL eventually get pumped since that price is too good to avoid for accumulation. At the same time, if you were smart and diversified amongst other altcoins, theres a good chance that one of them saw/sees a major pump that will make back any potential losses by a substantial amount, or at the very least break even.

the REAL key to winning in crypto is to take good chunks of change (500 to 1000 bucks each) and put it into as many altcoins as possible. all altcoins eventually pump and they are the bread and butter of % gains. once youve increased your stack, then you can start moving into trading larger market caps like btc, eth, etc.

2. RSR
3. XLM

Listen to this guy, he speaks the truth. I jumped into stocks last week and I can't fucking sleep. I wake up constantly checking my positions and what's moving. This is hell.

>They were both about the same for a about à year then Sergey made the right moves and link skyrocket. Before that a eternity seemed like it had more going for it
Thats truthfully just how it is sometimes. Like I said earlier, you arent going to win 100 percent of the time. You will lose money at some point, but if you are diversified correctly you will make back those loses easily.

>For example what are good sources to find out this sort of thing, rather than /biz/ just saying that the people involved with whatever coin their holding is hiring "the best"

If a dev team REALLY cares about their product and wants people to invest in it, they will be active on social media, their website, etc letting people know exactly what is going on with their project. Rory, sergeys social media manager, would post constant updates on links progress and changes being made in the dev team, sergey was attending conferences all the time and livestreaming them, etc. Good dev teams will show off while pump and dump scam teams will hide in the shadows

I'll look into it when I get home from work, appreciate the help fella.

did you use a password to encrypt the private key? or did you let it encrypt itself? if you used your own password, you at least have a chance, but if you let it encrypt itself youll never decrypt that key

i use coinbase to buy eth then i move it to my metamask to swap it with other stuff, typically on uniswap. main reason i use coinbase is that its fast and im too lazy to care about the fees, but the fees are indeed bullshit. coinbase pro has less fees but i think you have to hold your coins there for like a week or something until you can move them out, not sure about that... havent tried any other on-ramp. if/when you use uniswap make sure its the real one (https://app.uniswap.org/#/swap)), there are many fakes out there that will try to get you to give them access so they can drain your wallet.

no, crypto twitter accounts are literal garbage tier and almost exclusively serve the purpose of facilitating pump and dump scams on normies.

by the way, just to add to the people saying never panic sell, i bought statera when it was like 7 cents, then bought more when it was 3-4 cents, then the balancer pool got hacked and it was worth like 1/3 of a cent... you could buy my entire stack for the price of a steam game. when i saw this i thought to myself, "oh well, no point in selling when its worth so little anyways" and forgot about it for a while. a month or so later it breaks its ATH and goes to 46 cents, what was worth practically nothing then turned into ~$10,000. dont let emotion control you.

This is what I figure is what all the normal fags fuck up on. They're desperate to get back something rather than just forget about their loss that could potentially be worth something again someday.

It is. Buying and holding is unironically the easiest profits with altcoins, while trading has the potential to make more raw profits at the chance of losing money and mental fatigue

>> No.25995971

>>25995864
Yeah, its a pretty sound strategy. Like I said in my earlier posts, raw percent gains will come from alts no matter what, but ultimately a safe bet is indeed holding btc/eth/link

I see XMR as my stablecoin. It has small moons, and slowly increases. If you want to set and forget, Monero is always a good choice, because it's not going anywhere. Delists and other government action won't stop it. You would make more money elsewhere, though.

It will always be there for you, even on days where the market dumps.

Well, ask yourself 'why would I sell?' In that post, that anon realized that selling would make that loss in value real. He'd have a steam game worth of USD, rather than a pile of statera.

If he sold, he'd have some USD with zero chance of appreciation.
Since he kept, he had a chance of rapid appreciation.
When you sell is more important than what you sell. If you sold Bitcoin for 200, people now would call you a fool, but if you sell bitcoin now people see that as a wise choice.

You can't rewind the clock and buy bitcoin, so just let your coins exist and go do something else with your life. This greed can consume you.
