there is thousands of programs that can find deleted files and if you just formatted the drive scan takes like 5 min and literally unformat all files

yes, testdisk is primarily a linux utility
also photorec might work
however, both of those will recover only files with known file signatures (or fully readable text documents)
as a last resort, you might want to try binwalk on the raw device or just grep -aE
obviously unmount the device asap
