So this is going to get ignored by most and discounted by the bullish, fud, [material] hands posters, and the post nose crowd but it occurred to me all the same. I don’t treat crypto, more specifically XRP, like an investment. Oh, sure, I go through the same motions I do with an investment, I check the news, I keep up on the price, all that, but I don’t treat it like an investment. When I invest I set a price and a time, I buy in, get what I need, and get out. There’s no narrative. No expectation. Just a series of calculated moves: win some, lose some. That’s not how I treat XRP.

I realized this after getting up, checking the prices, updating my personal spread sheets, fuck using an exchange, and then going over the results. Everything is rebounding from Monday, Bloody Monday nicely. Everything except for XRP. It’s just crabbing along, doing it’s thing, and I just ignored that, and the red ink for the week, still up overall, and thought to myself: oh well, maybe tomorrow. That’s when it hit me, that I was treating XRP differently. Shortly thereafter I realized exactly what I’m treating XRP like.

I treat XRP like a lottery ticket.

When I check XRP I’m not looking for increased valuation. I’m not looking for a gain. I’m looking for the make it moment. I’m looking at the price purely to see when that one investment, that one buy in, ensures I never have to work again. Now that I’ve realized that, I don’t know what to do with the realization. I got into XRP because the fundamentals are solid, because the concept is valid and its time either has come or is about to, and because there are some great partnerships. These are all still true, but somewhere along the way I just stopped looking at this like an investment and I started treating it like the most expensive lottery ticket I’ve ever held.

I’m still going to hodl; I’m not selling. I just don’t know what to do with this new perspective and I wanted to see if anyone else felt the same.
