It's an exemplification of the absurd numbers which are traded on the COMEX. There is virtually no silver in stockpiles, because most of it is consumed in industry, and we only mine about 100-200 million ounces a year for investment in bullion. So the fact that you can dump billions of ounces on the market in a single day is absurd, and shows how little real metal is in the COMEX vaults. It has been estimated that there are hundreds of "digital" silver ounces for every real ounce (see the experts which Chris Marcus interviewed for his book The Big Silver Short). When too much palladium was taken delivery of a few years ago, the price broke free and soared. Cf. also the 80s when the Hunt Brothers took delivery on the COMEX, broke the paper market, and silver went to an inflation-adjusted ATH of $850 an ounce.

I'm not convinced on the timing of this crash, and I think a deep long austerity could be on the table. I think people buying up houses and using leverage will find things very difficult to pay back. The FED is going to do everything it can to stick this on the masses of people as best they can for as long as they can.

>Down to C$0.09. I was sure the bottom was at 10c but I guess the hands are pretty weak there too after all. Should be at bottom levels imho although I'm not invested in the company.

I think some it has to do with volume too. Like not many people are trading alot of these penny miners... so if no one is trading, the price wont drop. i've seen -25% drops in both Aftermath and Strikepoint over the past 4 trading days. Those were my top 2 performers over the past month and doesnt seem like those are in strong hands either.

And with silver looking to have a bad day tomorrow, the bleeding will continue. It sucks how the losses happen quicker and are more devastating than the upside gains. if silver has a good day, you're up 5%, but if silver has an equivalently bad day, you're down like 9-10%

i ve been properly at work for about 4 days now operating the jumbo drill underground. Its fun but demanding work because of how loud and disorinatating things can be in pitch blackness but I am enjoying it. The only compaint I ll make is everyone keeps getting fucking drenched going down the drift from the main portal because its raining a lot here instead of the usual snow, so everything is dripping wet and at the break period we all have to strip off our cover alls and ring them out, same goes for my socks. Its making the drillers lives impossible too, the guys from hytech keep getting stuck in the mud in the middle of the access roads and have to wait for the site skidder to come down and pull them along.
Tomorrow the guys at the training site at the QR Mill belonging to the project will be up here looking at different positions where they will be working, most are underground guys though so thats easy. A few chill native kids too, should be interesting seeing how they handle this kind of work.

Ok gents heres a head scratcher, my geologist mate Heather Longday from Eskay Mining sent me an email about Libero Copper and their Big Red Project a few days ago and I am 50/50 on this project. Its out in the Telegraph Creek Region, her neck of the woods, a huge copper porphyry / VMS intrusive structure into older volcanics, situated in a wide set of hanging bowl shaped valleys recently home to a glacier. She mentioned it to me because she spent a day there panning creeks after a helicopter crash, and said its got placer gold feeding down into the next drainage. The project has a ton of historic drilling and other exploration work going back to the 60s. Gold in soil targets, lots of heavily mineralized float too. However access apparently is only helicoper or bulldozer sled team in winter. Anyone else want to weigh in on this? I havent heard much at all about the company owning the project before.

Ok from a project standpoint I cant see much wrong with Radisson Mines and their O’Brien project. Great drill results, advanced stages of exploration and mill testing, and 5 different mills nearby to send ore for processing cutting out the need for their own. They did note that they had a strong nugget effect in core samples resulting in possible higher than expected grades but again nothing drastic that sets off alarm bells.

Looks solid so far. The management's past work is unfamiliar to me, never heard of any of those companies so I can't speak on that front. Their share structure could also use some work, they have about 150M outstanding shares and 250M fully diluted so lots of dilution on the horizon no doubt. Their >6Blbs CuEq Mocoa copper-moly project is a fine asset; they bought it when copper prices were low and seems to me that they'll probably sell it for a nice return and shareholder value after they have done some drilling there first. Also has high-grade potential at depth according to the preaentation. And finally, Big Red is pretty exciting. Located in the Golden Triangle and with a placer gold mine next door this asset seems to have great potential and prime conditions for exploration. Several outcrops around the property and even an outcropping quartz vein with visible gold! Seems like the highest potential for a gold deposit is at Ridge and Ridge East targets near the glaciers, judging from the high surface sample grades -- the quartz veining must be there I suppose.

I'll have to do some more homework on this!

>> No.25952269

thats my thinking too, stunning ore out on Ridge and Ridge East, and I am betting this blob of ore is one of the sources of placer for that districts creeks. Heather pulled 1 gram flakes out with just hand panning in some of the larger seasonal creeks so this has to be either the source or one of the sources. The only issue is its remoteness, no road access in that territory is going to be a challenge, but I see a bright future of exploration out on that area.

Information like that is golden Pan Man, thank you for sharing. Definitely seems to have a lot of potential but I'll do some more homework and take a good long look before all. The other Golden Triangle projects might just be superior investments due to the infrastructure and the activity who knows. I'll be very interested in new assays from Big Red, they should be coming this month according to the presentation -- although might have to wait longer than that, lots of delays everywhere.

Did you see the new Rockhaven assays by the way? They found a new mineralized zone at Klaza and initial hits at Rusk target were encouraging.

it just means they have to do a bit more drilling to double check the grades are accurate, often in "nuggety" vein structures you get wiry or blebs of gold which can throw your assays off. Silver Britannias go down to 1/10 oz, but I think those have horrible premiums.
Silver Libertads have fractionals too, but the premiums on those are even worse.
The only time I've gotten Fractional Bullion close to spot was when I bought Silver casino tokens, the pre-2005 ones have 0.6 ozt. in a $10 token. Not the best, but it's the cheapest pure fractional I've found and due to the brass ring, it's pretty much immune to being clipped.

The two coins on the left are 1978 100 Pesos, .720 Silver and have 0.64 oz ASW.
The second from the right on the top row is another 25 pesos, which has the same weight and purity as the commemoratives I mentioned above.
Bottom Right is a 100 New Pesos Commemorative, the core is Sterling Silver, not sure about exact ASW, but should be around 0.8 oz.

For accumulating, the amount doesn't matter that much. Just make sure you don't get fucked by premiums. So in practice that means: don't buy silver coins or bars any smaller than 1oz, and don't buy any gold smaller than 1/4oz.
>What are some decent purchases for a first time buyer?
1 ounce gold coin is a classic first purchase, or some dozens of ounces of silver. I for one bought one hundred ounces of silver. Though I would suggest you buy gold before silver because accumulating gold at reasonable premiums requires a larger investment than accumulating silver. I wish I had bought gold, now I don't want to buy any

I only wish I had more shares. Too bad I heard about the company only just before the recent pump after the 200% mineral resource estimate increase. Oh well, it's 3k shares more than most anons here so I guess I don't have the right to complain.

Junk is designed to be handled. The wear and tear on a cull junk coin would be enough for a 999 coin to be turned into a pile of dust.

Thanks anon. Should’ve mentioned I’m a poorfag as well, sorry about that. As far as the different kinds, is there a reason say on the JM Bullion website that the Chinese 1 gram coin costs more than the Perth Mint gold bar? Does it truly matter which one I get? If I can save $10 for the same damn thing I’m gonna do that so I can accumulate more at a time.

>1 gram coin
Not worth buying under any circumstance. Smallest you should go for gold is 1/4oz because you will get jewed otherwise. Save up for a bigger coin.
>Does it truly matter which one I get?
Different coins and bars also have different premiums just because reasons even if they are the same weight. Just buy the cheapest one; gold is gold and silver is silver.
