Listen here faggots, the whole point of PoW is to hava a randomly selected block.
>All the basis of cryptocurrency already existed for years and we had models before Bitcoin. The breakthrough happen when Satoshi introduced PoW to solve the transaction order problem, which is basically a smart way to randomly select the next block.
There's two ways to get a random:
1. you provide the seeds and generate a pseudo-random result (you can control the random value)
2. you provide a result and brute-force to get the seed (none controls the random value)
> PoW does 2. and PoS does 1.
This is why PoS is so difficult to implement. They rely on "random oracles" to provide seeds and the blockhash is the last seed. This is what cardano does.
The key difference between Chainlink VRF and algorand/ada/polkadot/iota is that the user provides a seed. In chainlink each oracle has a seed in the form of a private key (like cardano) but the input they use to generate signatures (the remaining seed) is created by the user requesting the random instead of the blockhash of the network; meaning it's the most secure random generator using the method 1 I described.
