This is one of those conspiracy-adjacent ideas where I do believe the US is stockpiling silver through private companies, but can't prove it. Primarily because if the US ever was honest about building a huge reserve of gold/silver (more than it had held as a ratio of gold to money supply since 1972) it would become immediately apparent that they were doing it to repeg their own currency to something. And if it became clear that the US intented to abandon this iteration of the dollar (while paying off USD denominated debts for pennies), the world would call foul and dump it like rancid shit.

The fact was that Lehman Bros. was the big player shorting silver before the GFC. Then when JPM inherited their position when they absorbed their corpse in 2009, it asked by the government to continue this position. And not only did they keep shorting the contracts, they also started to buy physical metal, which makes no fucking sense as an investment bank. Futures contract manipulation? Sure, they can rake in millions a day by playing the derivative game, but physical is different. Its much less liquid, so you cant do HFT algorithms with it, it takes up secure vault space (that they really don't have...), and the end goal pay off of dumping physical back onto the market once they manipulate the price high enough pales compared to what they can make by keeping the futures scam going.

I have to believe that JPM is not buying for themselves, but for a 3rd party with pockets much deeper than theirs, who wants to keep their names out of the news.

Grats on stacking some nice gold bars. Honestly though, the Valcambi bars are my least favorite gold pieces. They look tiny compared to the OPM bars of the same weight and since they’re in assay, you can’t really play with them like you can with coins. I just have them because I bought em off my brother. But hey, gold is gold.

>The fact was that Lehman Bros. was the big player shorting silver before the GFC.

This is the only part of your post with which I disagree. I think that Rob Kirby is right when he says that Lehman Brothers went long on silver. That's why they were singled out for destruction.

>I have to believe that JPM is not buying for themselves, but for a 3rd party with pockets much deeper than theirs, who wants to keep their names out of the news.

Bart Chilton said, in his interview with Chris Marcus, that, when he tried to bring the silver manipulation to the attention of the authorities, he was ordered to desist. He was told that the government itself was directly complicit in the manipulation.

You're probably right, and it wouldn't be the first time someone got smoked for trying to buy the worlds most undervalued asset without government permission.

>>25901388
I think we may have different view of just who we mean by 'the Fed', the 'US government', 'the US military', and 'blackrock/vanguard'. Because as far as I can tell, at the highest levels, your generals, defense contractors, Fed chairs, Fed board members (the big secret club), senior congressmen, Vanguard board members, and former presidents are more or less interchangeable. They run in the same social circles, their kids attend school together, etc...

And because of this, I don't think these very rich, very powerful people, actually care if China ends up as a world power (they won't btw). Because these people are not too dissimilar to the average CCP member; he gets rich, and engages in capital flight. In fact, Xi is now making it pretty clear that no matter how rich you think you are, he's still going to kill you like Jack Ma. The US is a much preferable money making environment to these people, and so they will deal with China to earn money, just like they will sell missiles to the US to earn money, betting that the more permissive environment will survive.

Sorry, I was going by a very old memory and got the bank wrong. It was Bear Sterns, not Lehman Brothers, which went long on PMs and was destroyed for it. This is an article from 2008, but the formatting is awful. In fact, most articles which deal with this question are falling apart or need to be retrieved from archives.

http://news.goldseek.com/GoldSeek/1223619420.php

Then you have this article from 2012, "The Secret Bailout of J. P. Morgan: How Insider Trading Looted Bear Stearns and the American Taxpayer"

"... No bloody wonder the SEC does not want to probe J.P. Morgan’s ‘rescue’ of Bear Stearns."

https://www.globalresearch.ca/the-secret-bailout-of-j-p-morgan-how-insider-trading-looted-bear-stearns-and-the-american-taxpayer/8974

I can see various other places where Rob Kirby is talking about this more recently, e. g. "Rob Kirby - The Fall of LTCM & How Bear Stearns Became The Fall Guy In 2008 Financial Crisis."

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3BHi90rn-JA&ab_channel=SilverBullionTV

He contends that Bear Sterns went long on metals, and that they were destroyed as punishment, upon which J. P. Morgan changed it into a short position.

With respect to Lehman Brothers, Rob Kirby also says that "Lehman’s Demise Was Most Assuredly All-About J.P. Morgan." "It is highly likely [or a certainty on my planet] that J.P. Morgan was INSOLVENT and was “BAILED OUT” last Monday, September 15, to the tune of 138 billion dollars. This would explain why the Fed and Treasury dictated that Lehman fail – to disguise or otherwise obfuscate the recapitalization of or illicit transfer of 138 billion to A MUCH SICKER, TEETERING ENTITY, J.P. Morgan Chase."

I think you're probably on the right track with that assumption. Why do you save the comparatively weaker JPM instead of Lehman? Presumably because JPM said 'yesum massa, my name Toby' and Lehman didn't. The government dusting the grave dirt off them and setting them back up would let them make just about any under the table demands, and they wouldn't even have to particularly coercive.

crypto and gold/silver are going to make so much fucking money over the next couple of years, holy shit. we're gona get smashed down here and there like on friday and monday, but trying to stop gold and crypto at this point is like trying to stop high tide from coming in. you just can't. it just seeps in slowly minute by minute until you're waistdeep in water. and then one day, the normies realize; oh shit, i'm wet, better buy gold.

if the price of gold skyrockets, the normies will know theres a problem, so that can't happen. but if the price of gold slowly steadily rises over time, no one will notice but gold investors. meanwhile silver will 2x this and no one will notice because its fucking silver and people dont care about silver because its not "gold."

No, society will not collapse and you will not be buying blowjobs with a mercury dime - if you think that, shut the fuck up you're a delusional faggot memer. what will happen is G/S will slowly rise under the radar while you have been buying silently the whole time - be it miners or physical or whatever - and before you know it, 3-4 months have passed and we're at 40$ silver and 2100$ gold and you are sitting there drinking a fucking high dollar whiskey and smoking a cigar thinking goddam what the fuck is happening in the world. well... at least i profited and my family is safe

Gold is meant to "freeze" your purchasing power for the future. Whatever your savings can buy now in terms of products and services (bread, gasoline, house, etc.), not in terms of dollars. Gold's value "goes up" because the dollar is being debased i.e. a dollar buys less than what it used to. Think of it as it becoming your own reserve that cannot really be touched by central banks and financial institutions. "Cash in" when you want to make a purchase. It is not a speculative asset. And its price goes up the less faith people have in those same institutions. Gold at, for example, 10k, means the dollar is likely dead. It can also be passed down as inheritance that again is independent of currency systems.
If you want speculative assets, that would be stocks, crypto, real estate, etc. Those are things that can grow wealth but also have violent downturns.

there are several types of IRA, and each one has different penalties and taxes for early withdrawal. In general he's not able to withdraw any sum without owing taxes or penalties at his age, and in some cases (traditional IRA, e.g.) he's going to owe taxes no matter when he distributes retirement income.

this is an extremely complex topic. It doesn't matter much at his age how he does it. What matters now is the legal entity or entities that comprise his retirement. But advising him to set up a DBA as a receivership is ludicrous and telling him 59 1/2 is the magic age is also retarded. Unless you know what his retirement is, how long he's been contributing, and what previous retirement accounts he rolled over there's no way to know how best to cash out money for gold. But a DBA is clearly the wrong choice. As is just taking money out without asking a CPA or someone that knows what the fuck they're doing.

You must be baiting but I'll bite just so newfags won't get confused. There is 0 counterparty risk in metals. If gold or silver appreciates in value you will benefit with your stack. That is not always the case with miners. Even last year there were many miners which went down year over year even though both gold and silver appreciated. This is highlighed in the junior space where not every miner actually makes it. There is huge political risk in miners which we see for example with First Majestic and their tax issue with the Mexican government. Finally if the metal prices really start to moon it is not impossible to see some mines nationalized. One really should have a physical stack, at least a small one before diving into miners.

This is a nutty question but I’ll ask anyway. The lockdowns were overwhelmingly destructive to small businesses, but Wal Marts, national grocery store chains, and big box stores were virtually unaffected. Could this have been by design? A Fortune 500 retail or grocery corporation can issue mandates to its stores to not accept gold or silver from customers in exchange for goods and services if the dollar becomes functionally useless. But your local mom and pop shops and businesses probably would be more than happy to accept gold and silver just to keep the lights on and allow the owners to feed their families. Because of this, the lockdowns were instituted with a major bias toward getting small businesses to close and go bankrupt. But the major retail corporations can continue operations unscathed, so long as they institute policies to accept only dollars and something like a FedCoin, and disallow customers from paying in gold and silver. How delusional am I for wondering this?

These are good points, anons, but we are almost getting beyond stupidity with the covid lockdowns and fear-mongering. It is overwhelmingly apparent to me that there is nefarious intent here. We are witnessing what may actually be psychological warfare on a global scale. But to my point about gold and silver for business transactions: you simply cannot get 100% of your needed food, goods, clothing, and supplies from simple bartering with precious metals with your neighbors and community, especially if you live in a metropolitan area and don't really know anyone. There has been rampant idiocy with the entire covid response, but this particular aspect of it (shutting down small businesses to the benefit of publicly-traded retail corporations) seems intentional, perhaps to close off the possibility for most people to acquire goods and services with gold and silver.

But there is a reality that if we had a war, or huge disaster, and lost the internet..... a million dollars worth of crypto isn't worth a dime. Fiat currency is only as good if the country backing it, and ours is trillions in debt.

I have a distiller and a furnace for smelting metals, that if necessary can burn wood. A huge supply of the raw material to make chlorine dioxide (broad spectrum disinfectant), guns and ammo. I have a diesel truck, and a diesel boat that can sleep 4 with a range of 300 miles. I am going to get a bio-diesel setup eventually.

With gold, silver, and these commodities, I should be okay. My family is large, and we are clannish, so I will have 6 grown men I can trust to help me keep people from taking my shit.

I live in a rural area, in Florida with a 12 month growing season, and lots of fish and game. I am ready for the end of the world as we know it, if it comes to it.

If not, I will have some gold and guns to leave to the kids.

Continuing down this rabbit hole, remember that the US after its founding was the first nation to have a majority middle class. Other developed nations followed suit. The middle class poses a unique threat to established oligarchies and overreaching governments that a lower class simply cannot do. For this reason, you can probably fairly characterize most government policies in developed nations as designed to subtly but deliberately undermine the middle class. I see the small business shut downs, while major corporations remain open, as another concerted effort along these lines.

One way of looking at things is that communism is the inevitable result of universal suffrage. That has been the case in every nation in history, and is a fact which Austrians have often taken note of. Even if there was no conspiracy, we should have ended up where we are right now. The British and American middle class was built under a system which gave votes only to those who passed the measure of a property qualification. Socialism began when everybody got the vote. It does seem however that, in addition to this above-mentioned historical law, we have a wicked conspiracy which takes advantage of, and sits over and above it, wishing to enslave mankind.

It depends. A lot of people here stack to both protect their wealth and in case of a big crash scenario where the purchasing power of fiat currency approaches 0; in those cases, selling an entire kilo bar of gold might seem like a great deal with your 300 trillion Zimbabwe dollars, except in two months that won't even buy you a month's worth of food.
Smaller denominations are easier to liquidate and can be done so in increments. Also, you're not flaunting your dick to everyone when you show up at the LCS with a big old kilo bar, only to be followed back home by a pack of nocoiners sick of giving BJs.

I imagine it'll still be much easier to liquidate 1oz or even 2oz pieces over a kilo. I guess a kilo is alright if she's going into long term storage for 10-30 years, but I find the small premium you pay for 1 coins is more than made up for when you sell

I know that's not all tarnish, but look up how to clean tarnish off silver coins on youtube and try it. It should knock off a good bit. It's hot water + baking soda + salt + aluminum foil. It won't hurt the silver.

Don't go all in. Gauge risks and have exposure to a handful of promising companies. Get exposure to different metals, not only gold and silver. If you want stability then have some producers in the mix, if you want to chase profits more then focus on explorers and developers.

AAGFF Aftermath silver is back under a dollar. Buy some and thank me later.
DRD Gold is at 10.97 a share- also a good pickup.
MGAFF Mega Uranium also slumping a bit- check it out.
KOOYF Kootenay Silver has slumped a bit and has good potential as a property. Very good buy as we've seen it hit close to 40¢ usd and it's at 28¢

I don’t think so. In my opinion things will hit hard when whales start moving towards the door. We’ll see a crash and it will be different than anything we’ve seen before. Likely an outside country will simply deny exporting to America without a significant number of dollars and that will cause a rush as retail will get clobbered under their own debt loads and start a domino effect

hey pmg. got 10 more 1oz Ag rounds coming in the post today. very excited. wondering if you guys follow the GSR for your stack, or if you just round it off at a nice 1:100. need to hoard more Ag and if I follow GSR it's 58oz to go, if I go 1:100 I need 113 more oz. what do you guys do and why?

I also stack with the GSR, I'd go with 1 oz gold, 300 oz silver if you are just starting out. My view is that a more extreme silver holding is necessary with smaller dollar amounts to realize any significant gains, so I'm willing to take on more risk. If it was $100,000 then I might get 30 oz of gold and the rest silver, so that if the GSR ever dips significantly I can still flip the silver into gold, but I will always have a nice gold holdings cushion for emergencies.

I would get some from here https://bullionexchanges.com/100-face-value-bag-400-coins-washington-quarters-90-silver-circulated
and https://sdbullion.com/random-1-oz-silver-coins..
The silver to gold ratio is above 71 which is when I stack hard on only silver. Make sure you do not violate the 10k or over if you live in the usa.
