How does the government expect anyone to survive, let alone thrive? I went to college, 'made the smart choice', and got 2 degrees. You know what else I got? DEBT. $100,000 WORTH OF DEBT AT AGE 24.

How am I ever going to save up to buy a house? My student loans cost more per month than my rent. And I'll be paying it off for 7 more years. I'm 27 now. How am I supposed to save money to put a down payment on a house? And a decent one at that. Median home price in my state is $450,000. To put a proper down payment, I'd have to save $90,000 - Ninety thousand dollars - to be in 3x the amount of debt I'm in now, for 30 years.

I work 2 jobs. I work full-time as a software analyst for a civil engineering firm, and I make $24 an hour before taxes. I spent $100,000 to make $12 more than minimum wage. How is this even acceptable? I have to work another job as a waitress to have a semi-comfortable lifestyle. I have what I need; a roof to live under, a car, and generally I can afford to have buy what I need, and occasionally treat myself, as I deserve, as anyone deserves. And you know what? I feel so guilty for being able to afford what little extraneous purchases I indulge in. I feel like I'm wasting money, when in a normal economy, my choices would be perfectly acceptable as a modest, humble living situation. But what a luxury compared to millions of other people. A 27 year old renter with no assets, 2 jobs, and massive debt.

I just feel so trapped. I can't even afford to live on my own. $1500 for a studio apartment that's 200 square feet? What a joke. It's so so so so so heavy on my conscience sometimes. I hate that I dwell on these thoughts first thing in the morning. I am praying for a gigantic economic collapse.

I'm in the same position as you. So far my plan is to just stall on paying off the debt, and hope either 1) I hit the jackpot with crypto or 2) gov't ends up canceling most of my debt.

Neither is likely, but I just can't see myself paying off this debt anytime soon. I might be able to pay $200/month tops which won't even cover the principal interest. That's literally the best I can do.

I have 15,000 in debt no degree because I bailed and work entry level manufacturing making about 20 an hour
Who the fuck goes 100k in debt to study, what, software engineering?
Are you fucking retarded?
Not even law or med. Glorified IT.
Good job.
Nobody cares what university you went to when they're hiring computer geeks except the NSA and they're smart enough to know the real gems probably didn't even go to college.
And you went to some expensive school despite the fact that your boss doesn't give a shit if your resume says MIT or Phoenix University.
You shouldn't fuck with biz you clearly make poor decisions.

do you hold any crypto anon? don't fall into the trap of trying to bet on random alts. just try to accumulate as much BTC as you can and you'll be alright by end of year

>> No.25909415

Bro, if you're making $24 at a High Cost of area. You need to MOVE. I'm in PHX. Rent for studio is only like $800 here. Also, tech scene is growing here. You can easily make $30+. Then you save up money and INVEST IT. That's the only way to get ahead. Cash will fuck you with inflation. Invest it in stock market and get 8% - 10% returns per year and see your money grow. I don't see any other way for you man. Either get a higher paying job where you are, or move.

They don't care. Any time you catch yourself thinking someone in a position of power gives a shit about you ask yourself why they would.

In Aus our student debt accrue no interest. Its a flat amount that's payed back when you start to earn a certain amount. Shits grouse

Anon be fucking honest to yourself.

You got no one to blame except yourself.

You went to college without checking the job prospects

You took on 100k debt without thinking about paying it back

You decide to live at your current place

First be honest then make sacrifices to untuck yourself.

Pay the debt aggressively, when it's gone move to a low-cost area. Safe aggressively for a down payment. Etc.

College is a scam, except for women. Joined the military at 19 and got housing, food, and medical before I got married. When I got married those stipends almost tripled. I invest all my extra income in coins in my paid apartment with meals cooked for by my wife who is using spouse grants to finish her third degree free. Higher education is a meme. I have licenses and certifications for engineer work when I get out that would have cost an arm and a leg to do in trade school.

Haha faggot. I went to a shitty city school and graduated debt free. Then got a shitty desk job that is now remote and get median American income to sit at home and fap all day. Feels good being a poor loser. At least I live in the US where one can be hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt for things like school and medical bills LMFAO. I wake up every morning and give 0 fucks. Feels so good not being a debt slave

The monetary system is a complete scam.

Here are your outs:

1. Move abroad and bail on loans
2. Crypto
3. Join military

Or just accept debt slavery.
