Alarm clocks are unnatural, you should wake up without any external interferrance naturally when your body is fully rested. How do we solve the wagecucking problem? there doesn't seem to be a light at the end of the tunnel for people like us.

>> No.25891592

I actually like my job
work in finance and I'm interested in finance so that's a large part of why I like my job
sometimes I have to do some boring stuff or work long hours but the pay is good so I don't really mind it that much
would probably hate working if I had a low payed/low skill wagecuck job like fastfood workers

>low payed/low skill wagecuck job like fastfood workers
what's the difference? i make 11/hr as a new accountant and fast food workers make minimum wage which is like 8.xx/hr, not a huge difference considering i pay more tax so it evens out.

until the corporations' vice-grip on the government is removed the wagies will continue to be worked like cattle; wrung out like a washcloth until every drop of value is obtained

even then there will always be people in the US proud to be wagecucks; the protestant work-ethic has been drilled into our collective psyche and people will continue boasting about how much time they spend at work instead of seeing their family or pursuing their hobbies

honestly waging is ok, the real problem is the low salary these companies have been shelling out which makes it super discouraging, finishing a trade and working an apprentice mechanic job at 16.50/hr canadian does not feel rewarding

Better to have a job you like with low pay than a job you hate with high pay. Unless it's a job you hate with pay so high that you can retire after a year, or a job you like with pay so low you can't afford to pay your bills.

Lol I get paid to fuck off 90% of my shift, I also went part time at the beginning of this and my bank account is loaded with covid bux. I get a paycheck every other week from my job (which is almost always very easy) then I get my gibs every week. I have a side hustle that gets me a $900 check every month andcrequires 20 minutes of work each month.

I started covid living check to check and putting little bits into my crypto stacks, now I’ve got what I thought was my dream stack, (obviously once you hit a milestone and then make new ones)I buy all major dips and will continue to, and thousands in the bank as dry powder/emergency wad.

I'm 19 and haven't even been to school yet. I was working full time labouring like I said and was doing well until Covid hit and my hours got cut way back. I quit now I'm working at fucking Walmart because that's the only place that I could find semi-full time employment.

As far as trades go, I know a decent bit just because I worked with all sorts of different trades people and they taught me a lot about the job environment. Apparently the new big thing is HVAC just because it's in such high demand. Pays like 80k-100k a year where I live. Results may vary though because we probably live in different parts of Canada.

Take college math and cs classes. Know some basic stats and linear algebra and grind math competition-type problems. Study specifically for the interview by finding quant problems online and learning the type of techniques used to solve them. Reach out to anyone you know that works at quantitative finance companies to ask their opinions and advice and learn about their jobs. This is important for context. Think carefully about your process re: problem solving, not just answers or formulas, because second order knowledge and thoughtfulness count for a lot. Get your resume in decent shape; be interesting, show your enthusiasm for trading and problem solving. Apply repeatedly, there is no blacklist; once a year in September or October is ideal.

Know basic market making terminology and concepts. Do not talk about technical analysis, it's not real. During the interviews avoid overconfidence; intellectual humility is really important not only for this job but 10x more for trading and at least as much for the rest of life too. Don't ever try to bluff your way through a problem or exaggerate, this is a far more negative signal than admitting you don't know something. Read all the resources they give you thoroughly if you get that far.
