I'm thinking about this way too much. Every fucking second I've wasted somewhere else might've changed not only my future, but everyone else's.

Yesterday I didn't notice when the traffic light turned green and a few people behind me had to wait about 10 seconds. Everything that happened to them after would've been different if I had noticed it immediately. Who knows how long the ripple effect will go? Maybe those 10 seconds meant someone avoided an accident. Maybe they landed in one they would've missed if they were 10 seconds faster. Maybe the person that landed in that accident would've found a way to cure cancer. And now it will never be found because of me.

Kek I think about this too but I’m much more positive about it. By simply existing and interacting with people I may have saved dozens of lives by now.

One day I actually was crossing a bridge. There was a slight delay in traffic (small midwestern town). A car came down really fast down the hill across from me as it was my turn to go. I hesitated. He quickly veered into the other side of the road (where I would be if I was in a hurry) and slammed into the grass and into the rail of the bridge. I helped his kid and him out as police arrived.
