Holding and doing dollar Costing averaging (buying a set amount on a regular basis) since the last bull run has made people overall value goes up. As long as you believe that BitCoin will eventually go higher within 5+ years (I'm thinking 10+ years as I eye retirement), holding and buying more is probably the safest bet.

Also, only put in the money's you're ok with losing.

Lost 40k in 24 hours. HODL through it. during the 2017 bull-run BTC dumped 40% multiple times before reaching peak. Same will happen this time. Alts will suffer more but bounce higher than BTC with every uptick from here. I'll start taking profit when ETH hits $2k, but it will likely hit 3k+.

Very true. I lost money when I tried to beat the market, but emotions are hard to overcome. Did a couple of long term good trades (not day trading) and stepped back from crypto for a while as I worked on other areas in my life. Recently decided to DCA in a mix of BTC/ETH/XMR along with holding onto some LTC and XLM I have from a while back in crypto. Also started DCAing in the stock market on SPY, DIA, MJ, YOLO, and GOLD (figure it's still good to dig it out).

Only non-DCA I got was SAVE as airliners went on a deep discount and although I was a bit late, I got 50% return on that

No debt and I'm also building up savings to have liquidity I can quickly use without effecting long term holds.

My financial goal is to beat inflation, don't spend as much, and save up for retirement, or as I view it, to pay for medical expenses when I'm older and have money left over to pass onto my family. Yearly ~5% is minimum and preferable is 10% average return is what my financial target is.

If anything, it's actually bullish longterm. Also, just because the pools are in China doesn't mean that the actual miners are from there.

I've read that unless you DCA, it's super dangerous to buy the top. Saw a lot of people buy the top in 2017 with money they needed, and lost money in the process.

Nobody can truly predict the future. Saw a lot of "Bitcoin to 100k by end of 2018!!" articles with "experts" talking about it doing that or some other huge number.
