SENT is a staking token, when main net will launch q4 this year , you will be able to stake your coins and earn yearly yield of 15-25% in exchange for securing the chain, yield will vary depending on which validator you choose to delegate your tokens, some will have higher fees for higher security some the opposite.

SENT team decided to switch away from ethereum cause infura was a huge bottleneck and it could not keep up with bandwidth payments speed thats a basic requirement from a per byte payment protocol. also eth creates huge friction by forcing end users to use 2 or coins, while one sentinel chain you don't need to learn how to use eth gas and you will be able to pay fees in any coin
