gridseeds have 30 day manufacturer warranties if you're not overclocking them
failures are basically unheard of so far, they seem pretty safe
pay attention to their cost and how much scrypt coins are falling vs btc though, they take quite a long time to pay themselves off now, and will continue to get harder
it doesn't seem like a very smart investment to me

It depends if ASICs can adapt to it, I don't really have enough insight to judge. If your scryptN automatically and unforeseeable negotiates algorithms or alternations that exploit the weak point of ASICs it could be a good approach.

I'm not getting what you're saying here. The N parameter is a fundamental part of the scrypt hash, and it was an oversight on *litecoin* part to make it fixed.

The way I understand it, scrypt was made to simply make this shit use lots of RAM so if ASICs ever get made for it, they dont get mad effective like the Bitcoin ones. Scrypt-N makes it near impossible to make a better ASIC because the memory usage fluctuates, while with regular scrypt it's just set at high. If you get a scrypt-N miner with lots of memory, it's going to cost a lot of money because of all the extra memory and at some point you might find that it's still not enough for some coins.
I might be wrong about this easily though, I haven't researched scrypt-N a lot.

1dash is now capable of scraping MintPal API data. This is a major improvement, because MintPal data is much more consistent (timed updated every 10 mins) that Swisscex (it's just not mature enough).
The API is being a dick, tho, and will make most of the requests fail.

This update is NOT live yet, since it'd break your charts. I'll push it to live in the weekend.
