The whole point of the psychological emphasis behind closing candles is that traders are trying to make their big moves for the day before any news that could drastically affect price gets dropped. In a 24/7 market this psychological effect has to either be considered never there or always there, meaning there are either no closing candles or every candle is a closing one.
