General consensus on top shilled coins besides the typical BTC, ETH, LINK (top shilled does not indicate the best) is LTC, ADA and XLM. These also just so happen to be what I'm heavily weighted on. It will depend on jurisdiction but I would not be surprised if it were taxed closest to ordinary investment income.

>Since Exchanges require IDs im at risk of id-theft if the exchange is hacked. How do i make sure i protect myself besides using a ledger hardware wallet and using two factor authentication?
are you afraid of identity theft, meaning your personal data, or the theft of your crypto? Ultimately there is no practical way around having your personal data leaked if it's on the exchange and it gets hacked. Of course there is less risk the fewer exchanges you sign up on.
With regards to theft of crypto it's good to follow best practice and set things up so that even if your computer or network is compromised you won't lose much.

Lastly there is one more significant risk, the risk of loss through user. Lots of people have fucked up and irretrievably lost fortunes. If I had to give a tip regarding that would be make sure you understand how bitcoin (or whatever crypto you have) works. Not that you need to understand the code or whatever but when I see people fuck up and read their shit, more than 80% of the time even in a post about how they fucked up and lost their bitcoin, they betray a lack of knowledge of very basic things about bitcoin, despite having shitloads of money in it.

I just started a few days ago with $500 into BTC and $1k into ETH. That $1500 has turned into 1840 after 5 days.

I plan on putting more into ETH after it dips, and the rest into some other alt coins for when BTC corrects. However, keep in mind I am in good financial health, I am in no debt, young, high IQ, big cock, and essentially have my life together. Do not invest money that you will NEED in the next year because you think you can make a quick buck. This shit could all come crashing down literally any fucking day now. Long term it's going to 100k+, but short term you could become one of many burnt out losers.

I'll drop a link to a basic portfolio I built, I use it for my roth (tech stocks, no TSLA). https://m1.finance/hyLohbfBxM2R

>>25755188
I have used Celsius network for any coins they support because they pay good rates on deposits. Their assets under management has gone up 10x or more in the past two years and so far no security breaches (that's the risk). Exodus wallet is a good multi coin wallet too but don't download the scam versions of it inside the play store lmao, get the official version by Exodus Movement, Inc. Both run risk of potentially being hacked albeit low considering their frontend security implementations (main risk is their handling in backend). If you want really hardcore security and plan on holding for years, look into getting a ledger or trezor hardware wallet.

When you send coins, always set up the target address in a whitelist. Your first transaction should be small and serve as a test to verify the whitelisted address. If the fee is too large compared to amount your sending, just read each character one by one in the whole address and verify it manually. If it goes through successfully, boom your transactions from now on with that whitelisted address are as simple as choosing it from a list, and you no longer run the risk of getting clipboard hacked or fat fingering.

IRS regulation on crypto is not well defined. They define some crypto as "property" and other as "securities". You will often hear tax FUD that the IRS wants to tax every crypto to crypto transaction. This might even be the case according to their poorly defined categorizations, but it makes fuck all sense as you could literally owe taxes on net negative annual income, which is impossible in any other category of property or security transfer. All in all, just treat it like trading anything else - make/lose your money for the year, report income just like it were stock, forex, bonds etc. Don't over-complicate it.

Do your research and become as familiar with crypto and the technology surrounding it, and most importantly, its purpose. You are investing into it, after all. I personally believe it is still possible to make x100 gains with these up and coming technologies. However you need to be okay with essentially "throwing away" $1k+ into shit and not seeing meaningful gains for months if not years.

based, buying something is guaranteed to lose you money unless you can elucidate why it will hold greater value in the future, instead of less. Price moves, especially in fucking crypto, cause emotional reactions - you will sell too early and cut gains, or sell in a market tantrum at a fat loss, if you are incapable of staying disciplined and following the rationale of your investment thesis to its end.

>>25758639
Investopedia is a good resource for terminology. Learn the basics of:
money management - risk control, scaling positions, adjustment for market dynamics
market dynamics: supply/resistance, multi-timeframe analysis, chart patterns (basic ones, flags triangles etc.), macro environment, volume profile, fibonacci retracements

Also find some professional traders who, well, actually trade for a living and aren't faggot grifters. I have followed Mannarino and Francis Hunt for years now, they are top notch at their game and have saved my ass many times with their free analysis. Mannarino presents more of a big picture market dynamic, Hunt is more focused on technicals.

I would like to add to this that your investment thesis should CONSTANTLY UPDATE given current information. Not panic. Not fear. Information. Analysis. Reasoning. Has something changed that fundamentally contradicts your original thesis? What proves that to be the case? Only experience and analysis of past market structures can guide you in this regard as to when "it has changed". Starting out, you have no experience - hence why you need professional traders for guidance, to show you how to think through new information and integrate it into a proper thesis/outlook.

Also I suggest The Market Wizards book, guy interviews some of the most successful traders of all time. They will all describe a similar approach that led to their success - it involves proper money management and risk control - master this. Wish I knew about this book sooner in my trading journey.

Assuming constant crude s/d and still having to use the dollar to purchase it (persistence of petrodollar), dollar down crude up. Crude hasn't reacted too strongly to the weakening dollar because there is still dampened demand from economic lockdown. If there becomes a general trend toward renewable/alternative energy sources, this could also keep demand down. A large-scale war in the middle east would do just the opposite, demand would spike in anticipation of supply chain disruption. Another potential demand spike is if fracking is banned or severe carbon tax is implemented in the US. It really depends on the geopolitical situation going forward and how it unfolds. I would expect a tendency for the US to look for a war in the middle east if the DXY starts getting below the 70 handle, as spiking oil demand would simultaneously help support demand for the dollar.

I use coinbase USDC via ACH -> binance for my on-ramp. Might cost me $1 in fees for whatever amount I send over, vs $15 or more by buying crypto with in-bank fiat directly on any exchange. I've never used a crypto ATM, if there were one that supported XMR withdrawal and you hid your face and everything from security cameras, maybe... but I doubt it. Better option if you are trying to avoid taxation, find a country with 0% capital gains and figure out how to setup shop there legally. Talk to a lawyer or accountant if you have enough to cash out to make it worthwhile, otherwise I would probably just borrow against the crypto and pay no tax.

Most of the shit here outside of top 50 are unironic scams. Huge gains get posted because there's no liquidity on whatever exchange they are on. Last year in the defi wave, the latest and greatest scam was creating a coin with intentionally low supply and low liquidity, shill it everywhere, watch it pump 30x then remove all liquidity (all of the shitcoin + ETH, which is what they really wanted). Boom, price collapses from up 30x to zero instantly, and there's no longer a market to even trade it on. They then turn around and run the stolen ETH through a mixer to make it untraceable. Use that ETH to initiate liquidity on the next scam, repeat. Perhaps the greatest of all liquidity scams was picrel.

My take: yeah, you can make quick money doing it if you get in and get out quick (only works with small money, too). You can just as easily get rugpulled and essentially have been robbed of whatever you put in. Some people had success with it (generally, oldfags), most just lost everything (generally, newfags).

With that being said, there are huge opportunity coins out there that aren't scams, but they are buried under piles, and piles, and PILES of shit. Even if you find the little non-scam starter, it is still massively risky, so don't ape. If you really want to go down this path: figure out how to use uniswap. With ETH fees being as high as they are, it probably isn't even worth it at this point (probably why all the scammers packed bags and left, too). You have been warned.

In periods of generalized deflation, yes. This typically occurs when extreme volatility and panic hits the stock market. For example, March 2020. December 2018. September 2020. Just about every single asset class dropped in tandem. Banks, hedge funds, etc. are forced to close their leveraged long positions at a loss which requires cash. If they close at a sufficiently large loss, their cash reserves will be below their required reserve ratio - thus, they will be forced to close their non-leveraged positions to raise more liquidity to cover reserves. It causes a sort of cascade effect if there is sufficient volatility, and all assets get dragged down in a rush for cash to cover leveraged longs and maintain reserves (aka, prevent risking bankruptcy).

Crypto can correct independent of the stock market. As to whether it does or not, that just depends on the VIX.

I’m looking to increase my RSR stack and switched over from Uniswap because the gas fees were fucking my swaps.

But I’m worried about having my account frozen being that I’m using a VPN to bypass the US restrictions.

Will buying coins using USD/USDC flag my account? I’m guessing I can’t use my bank account at all on the site and have to transfer coins from a wallet. Also it wants me to secure the account using google or a cellphone. Like my bank account, i assume it’s in my best interest to avoid linking my cellphone. Does the same go with Google?

These may be stupid questions but I’m trying to make it and don’t wanna risk missing out being a trillionaire.

using USD/USDC shouldn't hurt, over 50% of global transactions are in dollars. I would move coins from a separate wallet instead of bank link though yes. Linking via cellphone, they can tell what area that number is for, although it doesn't necessarily mean you are a US resident even if you are using a number based in the US. Google, they probably don't get your location/area, just use your account for authorization purposes. I've never used a VPN to get around US block before so I don't know the best way to go about that, but I'll probably wind up figuring it out myself here soon. Binance.us is literally just an outdated version of binance.

Nobody knows what will be the final price of bitcoin, or any crypto for that matter.
You can buy fraction of a coin, one bitcoin is around 40k right now so most people don't buy one whole anyway.

Not sure if this is the place to ask this as most conversation seems to be about investments.

I recently inherited a 2011 Chevy express 2500 cargo van and live in a college/city of ~200k people. I'm a strong guy and the idea is to make some money on the side by moving things for people for a low fee, as people are always moving in and out of college towns.I know that to do it legitimately I will need to get the vehicle registered with the DOT and have a business license etc. I was looking to do this "under the table". The idea was to post an ad in some facebook groups offering moving services around the town for a low fee and money for gas. Business would be conducted in cash/cashapp/venmo/paypal etc. It's not illegal to move a friends things for them and to accept money for cash and things, I think I can circumvent business laws and things.

Another pitfall might be that moving things for people carries the risk that it will be damaged or that they might claim it was damaged even if it wasn't actually. I was thinking of drafting a liability waiver although I know it wouldn't hold up in court. Perhaps it is enough to convince clueless college kids.

Thoughts and responses are greatly appreciated thank you for taking the time to read.

More than likely a college kid isn't going to try and sue you for some damaged shit because the shit they have isn't worth the time and money to get an attorney and go to court. Even if you did damage something you can offer some sort of payout option to keep them from bitching and trying to destroy your reputation. You could definitely do it for cash. I suggest finding a partner because some things really need two people to move effectively.

I just started to test the waters with crypto, I haven't made much gains but at least I could double what I invested, my only doubt now is, how do I cash out/withdrawal this to my bank account? I'm currently using mainly coinbase and there's no option other than send crypto to other people, I also bought some doge on Binance and there it seems like you can actually withdrawal your funds to a bank account but I couldn't pass the verification process after several times.

One more question guys: My main draw for college students and people needing their shit moved is that I already own a paid-off vehicle that takes much less gas, I don't need to pay any employees, etc etc. Basically, I can afford to undercut any competition except maybe for 2 over-the-border guys in a beat up silverado who don't speak English and don't mind busting their asses for cheap lol. I do a lot of painting so I'll go off that. If I were repainting apartments I would price by room and shoot for $30/hr minimum, more like $40/hr+. So that's what I would target since it's also manual labor that people generally don't enjoy.

>>25764529

That's what it seems people on craigslist are charging for an hourly rate, I've seen 33 on low end and up to 60 hourly for single man jobs. If I have a roommate helping too I can multiply rate by ~90% for discount and give him a cut of whatever he tolerates, probably ~40% since it is my truck and there is no shortage of guys looking to make a few bucks here and there on the side if they don't take that.

What risk with the law do you think I run with operating this business? Posts to craigslist are anonymous enough until I need to give them a way to contact me. If I am stopped by DOT for whatever reason saying that we are helping a friend is easy enough. I am moreso concerned with getting in trouble for operating a business illegally because it is blatantly obvious when posted to facebook etc. I plan on operating things on a small enough scale that I am not worried about the IRS just paranoid about getting in trouble because I am sticking my neck out there when I make a post advertising to a facebook group like that. I am probably overthinking things as there is no shortage of immigrants who operate illegally but still concerned ig.

Eth is about to break ATH ($1,400) and enter price discovery. Not more FOMO than buying btc at $20k in my opinion. That is, buying at 50% of ATH would maybe have been even better, but lits of people who have longer experience investing than I don’t think it’s interesting until it has broken ATH. Essentially, if you buy now you are investing in the thesis that ETH is not about to find impenetrable resistance at its old ATH but will in a while break through it and then shoot up to new heights. It might be wrong, maybe ETH will never break its old ATH, but to me that seems the odder theory.
