Used office supply store. Check around May when offices are on to the next year's budget and looking to replace old furnishings. This works best if you live in or near a large metro area with a lot of office buildings occupied by companies with a lot of money. Some offices replace their chairs every one or two years and have used office supply places take their old for resale. Doing this requires some minor digging on your part to find something lightly used and nice. It's possible to find high end thousand dollar chairs for a hundred buck.

Who knows. It's possible, and it isn't possible. There is growing sentiment against Amazon. It's treatment of works, it's diluted inventory with tons of chinese rebrands, it's unreliable review system, it's possible monopoly over internet goods. They're too focused on selling practically everything to give each product category the support and care it needs for that product to flourish.
