Any anon that lost bitcoins in Mt Gox? Share your feelings

>> No.25749801

had 5 btc in there, to buy drugs
no regrets

>> No.25749894

Only dust. The writing had been on the wall for a while, there were rumors of insolvency at least 6 months in advance. Plus Coinbase had been around for almost a year and it was a way easier onramp.

If I had it now it'd be worth $1k. As $1k is the square root of fuck all next to my cold storage, I'm didn't even sign up for recompense - life's too short

What do you want money for? Just to have good feelings? right?

No one wants feelings of despair or envy, just happiness, fun, and tranquility.

People here were talking about arbitrage opportunity since MtGox had a higher spot price than anywhere else. Then reports started coming in how some people could not withdraw their BTC. Then not just some, but everyone. Reddit was full of fud, same here. When it came crashing down leddit had a suicide prevention hotline pinned for a few months. Some peeps went to Nipponland to protest in front of the exchange. Read a story of a guy who sold his house and lost it all and was protesting out in the cold. It was kind of brutal. But not unexpected and not surprising

You talking about me or in general? I was barely in highschool when MtGox happened, had a few hundred bucks in BTC but barely managed to break even at the end. I then figured it was a scam and only came back on start of 2017 when I figured crypto is here to stay. Even when this bull run ends I will still be here, because the space is still so young it reminds me of the internet of the 2000s. Once this industry gets filled with boomers and every mouth breather imaginable, made possible through a sub 80 IQ UI and UX, then I will consider leaving. You could say I'm here for the tech, or rather the culture.

I'm afraid not, but I know the pain. I lost some on BTC-e after the feds seized it in 2017. Were there any clues or was it straight out of the blue?

I lost the only 3 that I had just left there and forgot about....Could have been worse I guess.

I lost more money with Quadriga

>> No.25753440

I lost 117.5 BTC. I almost killed myself over it. Now I have about 3 BTC and 50 ETH and I still want to kill myself. Also if I ever see Mark Karpeles IRL i will strangle him with my bare hands

>> No.25753767

I was in high school and owned a few dozen BTC too, used them to buy drugs on silk road.

Don't think anyone was using BTC to trade back then except ultra autists. You could get them for free on the #Occupy wall street protests 10 years ago.
