Nah, 50k is def happening, people are being dumb again. I actually wish it would cool down and dumb money stopped flowing in. I don't want a hard crash again, I'd prefer if we just steadily went to 100k and normies were priced out forever.
Just yesterday one of my normie friends who is not into crypto wrote to "Oh shit the crypto market is crashing" and I was like "What are you even talking about?"
"Everything went down 6%!"

He unironically called Bitcoin running up to 40k and consolidating at 38k a "crash"

It will change the world for sure. A bunch of idealists that understand money now have the power and infrastructure to anonymously coordinate and trade and grow 24/7? No government can keep up with that. No economy can keep up with that. Not even China working their citizens to death. We're growing a global economy that is free and equal. DeFi is super exciting. DAOs remove the need for corporations to be greedy and they will be the most powerful entities in the world. Think about how feared the "hackers known as anonymous" were back in the day. Now imagine us NEETs with the economic power of a first world country banding together and doing what we want. If nothing changes it's out own fault. Sure a single guy with a Million can't do much. You're missing out the golden bullrun because you believe the seething fantasies of nocoiners kek.
And even if Tether were to actually go down, its place would be instantly taken by USDC. It was specifically created for this purpose so the entire system doesn't rely on Tether. If you wait till the 15th you'll miss a huge chunk of gains.

i learned about bitcoin options on the crypto and coffee youtube channel

https://m.youtube.com/c/CryptoCoffeelive/videos

the guy is very knowledgeable about crypto in general but especially the options market. that said he helps hedge funds manage their money so his mentality is super safe, he mostly sells covered calls which gives you a guaranteed +80% if you wait a year.

Im more into higher risk, so im betting on bitcoin going up by buying calls. it’s not NEARLY as risky as margin trading (nobody should ever margin trade) but if you hold the contracts to expiration and bitcoin doesn’t exceed the strike price you lose it all. but lets be real bitcoin is going above $50k either this month or the next. you need to do the math on the price of each different type of call, but a shortcut is just buy $1000 of next months calls each month, with a strike price above what btc is now. the worst that can happen is you lose $1k, but best case you can make $10-20k.

that said there is so much dumb money on ledgerX right now, i can set buys and sells on both sides of the spread and have them hit at the same time. pic related is some rich idiot buying my satan sell order which was 3x the market price at the time. i paid $400 for those contracts just a few days before, and sold them for $6660.

I don't actually believe this. I believe in a world where everyone can bring their full economic worth into the system and get rewarded fully. Problem we have right now is that wealth is sucked by very few people who just sit at the controlling side of money without contributing anything (I.e. their job is to ensure steady and fair growth for everyone, but instead they suck the money in because planned economies just don't work)

In a decentralized system, money will move to where wealth is generated. And even if you earn money as a cleaning lady, you can put your money into the leading corporations of the world and earn money through their growth. Sure it's theoretically possible nowadays, but the market is way too discriminating. For stocks you need a brokerage and need to pay fees, banks will liquidate your stocks if you fail payments and prices and inflation are manipulated against you. As a poor person you have no chance of making a living for yourself and it only gets worse which also makes you lose faith in the system and more likely to either to try to cheat it or give up on it entirely and try to get as much welfare as possible. If we actually create a fair financial system that has clear rules and is free of any centralized market manipulation, we can increase the productivitiy of humanity as a whole. It won't be single clans moving money to each other because now you get an advantage to use the full economic force of the entire planets. DeFi will completely outpace tradFi and once trust is established in the system we'll actually be able to build generational megastructures. You could put money into say the creation of a O Neil colony and know for sure you'll either get compensated or actually get to profit of it due to a smart 50 year contract.

If this sounds too fantastic or idealistic, well it is. But it is a possible world we can create.

aside from the youtube channel i linked, options are something that can be explained in a few minutes, but you need to spend time thinking about them and turning them over in your head to really get them. just think about it a bunch, then look at what all the prices are for the different contracts and try to figure out what they mean. that is, why people think it’s a good idea to set the price where it is. each different contract is like its own little market, and they all behave differently.

but again, the simplest way to look at options is as a safer replacement for margin trading. instead of longing, you buy calls. instead of shorting, you buy puts. there is no scamwick liquidation in options trading. i still cant believe margin trading is even a thing.

Maybe they do, maybe they will realize the potential that is there. In the end it doesn't matter. What matters is that DeFi Will outpace tradFi and there is nothing tradFi can do about it. They can try to regulate it, try to create laws, try to manipulate markets, print money, force people to give up their property, it doesn't matter. DeFi is living and breathing now. It will outpace tradFi because it it is the most efficient way to create sustainable growth in the long term and there is no point of attack. TradFi can attack its core structures, but DeFi will just reform while tradFi wastes resources on the way. It's the beauty of decentralized markets. You can't take it down. And the sooner the right idealists realize this the better.
