In terms of selling out his followers- first to Clinton, then to Biden- I'm not going to lie, that hurt me and all his other supporters a lot. I really think he missed a historic opportunity to create a populist third party that could challenge the corrupt two party system. I'm not some brainwashed robot- I don't think Bernie's above criticism. Particularly his foreign policy and support for the defense industry, and his legislative record, are not great. Which was why it was so telling that after he made his, his rhetoric changed to billionaires. There's no debating that change. Listen to his earlier speeches, then listen to his speeches after '16 when he got paid. Pre-16 it's all millionaires and billionaires. Post-16 it's just billionaires.

As for his decades of work. The guy did not have a job until he was 40 and has been a career politician since.I do not think that entitles you to a fast pass to becoming a millionaire, yet for some reason ideologues and team cheerleaders for both parties just want to side-step that shit.

His political career mirrors that of Senator Paul in that he's just there to represent an ideology and hasn't passed any meaningful legislation. The difference with Paul is that Pauls ideological stance is confirmed by him not passing legislation, in fact that's an ideological win for him as he's small government, whereas it's the opposite for Bernie.

I don't support Bernie and I never have, but I used to have a modicum of respect for him. The majority of that went away after the election of '16 where he bent the knee, collected his 30 pieces of silver, and modified his rhetoric to suit his new lifestyle. Whatever remaining respect I had for him was completely washed away by his actions this election cycle. He's just a niche part of the Democrat brand who exists purely to bring in Progressive voters to deposit their political capital into the Democrat coffers.
