There are just way waaayy too many alts out there and everyday new ones pop up.
So the chance of hitting something that goes 10x is much smaller than in 2017, so people will just stick to BTC and ETH.
If you want to take more risk just go leverage long BTC.

100%. I would love to diversify into other coins, but what's the point? They don't provide a safety net, as they all pretty much move with Bitcoin, sometimes just before, sometimes just after. So all they're good for is the occasional moon meme, and considering there's so many out there, I'd probably lose more searching than I would when I actually found the 2-3 with gains.

As boomer-tier as it is, Bitcoin is where the money is at. It's the coin housewives are pumping. It's the coin banks are diversifying in. It's the standard.
