I have a PhD in crypto economics and mathematics. Crypto incentives in Chainlink are a legitimate concern. I saw Ari Juels speak at a conference recently where he mentioned tokens and asked him about the token economics of a node staking system like the Chainlink network is planning to use. The problem is that node operator incentives are fuzzy at best and not even figured out fully by the team (see the gitter for Steve stuttering about this). When I brought it up to Ari Juels, I told him that in the way the network is expected to be used, the fees payable to node operators would actually decline as requests become more ubiquitous because as the network grows it becomes cheaper to use. This makes sense if you took a few advanced cryptoeconomics courses. Ari admitted that it was a great question but that they were "actively pursuing research in that area." I sold my LINK immediately after that and saw a significant dump on the binance charts. It's pretty clear these guys are pulling you along making you think they're doing something revolutionary when the incentives aren't even fully determined yet.

Stockbroker/Technical Analyst here. Here's my take on Chainlink. It could go higher or it could go lower. My opinion though is that it will at some point go lower and at some other point it will go higher. Some of the best analysts are are saying it's totally undervalued and at the same time overvalued but there's also a chance the current value is correct. In the future I see it being pretty stable really but there will also be instability at times. Something you can always count on though is that when the price goes up it means the price hasn't gone down.

Fucking this. Chainlink is a blatant scam, let me explain you why:
LINK's javascript has been hacked and now all the nodes are being affected, meaning they will go offline one by one.
But here's the real trick; every node that goes offline first has to be validated by other nodes, Thus the first node won't go offline until EVERY SINGLE NODE has verified it actually has gone offline
LINK will be in an infinite javascript loop. Maybe if you're a programmer you will recognize FOR and WHILE loops. Well.. This is a FOR loop that NEVER ends.
The price will TANK to at least 50 satoshi. Maybe even lower when the nodes are actually verified being offline.
Sergey is now busy setting up extra nodes to undo this process. Called contra-hacking. He has injected some GO-language code, pseudo-offline code, into the ChainLink network. This means nodes will appear the be online, while they are struggling to go offline, but in the meantime they cant because it isnt verified yet. Neat trick if you ask me, but it wont last long before the other nodes will know whats really going on.

You are viewing this completely incorrectly. The last few weeks have proven we are in a completely new ball game. Everybody lowkey knew that BTC was going to hit 50k+ at some point in the future. Some would argue late 2021 to mid 2022, some end of 2022 to mid 2023, depending on which side of the extended cycle debate you were on.

What is happening now is unprecedent in that bitcoin is ahead of all time projectiions and by a lot. It's all over the media and other boards as well. This changes the game completely. The old idea of a cycle with "organic" growth and decreasing BTC dominance is kill. All money is being flushed into BTC at explosive rates and only few alts are able to keep pace. When the rug gets pulled and it will get pulled, you shouldn't be surprised to see complete collapse of altcoins. The fact that Chainlink is one of the handful coins who has managed not to pump at all in this market is incredibly concerning to the point that it could signal the end of it when BTC dumps. This has only been reinforced in my mind by weird organization behavior such as massive increases in employee sizes when they don't have a single paying customer and no confirmed working relationships with non-meme literal who scamcoins.

At some point LINK looked like the best hedge to gain the biggest gainer of the upcoming bullrun. But that is no longer the case, the environment has changed fundamentally and LINK is looking like one of the weakest hands out there.

Is this FUD? Either way its very bullish for link. While every other alt has bled out vs bitcoin since the last bullrun 4 years ago, link is the only one with major gains. This likely leads one to assume that when the BTC rug gets pulled, link will hold if not continue to increase. I remember a few years ago being shocked when link had 30,000 wallets while other comparable market cap coins had hundreds of thousands more. Link now has 325,000k+ wallets. Link defies market cycles because a) MCs dont exist, b) they do exist but link is an incredible asset, or c) they dont exist but link is an incredible asset.
