I got my shit stolen from binance even tho i had the 2FA and all the usual bullshit and im not a retard.
I suspect it was through the phone as i also had the app.
I would recommend not getting anything on the phone not even a wallet.
Best bet is buy and put it in a cold wallet.

I like how the con men in the intelligence agencies who came up with this scam coin trolled the idiots who bought it by showing pictures of it coloured Gold as to tell them what they should have been buying while they sold them shit.

just keep it on a platform that focuses on bitcoin instead of adding support for every shitcoin out there, and is serious about multi sig. something like river financial is a good option.

Buy it on Coinbase and enable 2FA. All of their crypto is in cold storage which means it is entirely offline and cannot be hacked unless someone physically breaks into the location where the wallets are kept.

Hardware wallets are not immune to hacks as we learned recently. Software wallets are susceptible to being hacked too. Don't fall for the meme that keeping it on an exchange is bad.

which hardware wallet has been hacked? Ledger's customer database was hacked, not their wallet. There's a Proof Of Concept exploit for Ledger but that isn't a hack that allows the attacker to take private keys from the device. as far as I know there's no hack that would allow anyone to get your private keys off a device, especially not remotely.

it means offline wallet on a computer not connected to the internet. not necessarily the same as a cold wallet.

a hardware wallet is a device you can use to store your wallet keys. it stores them securely in such a way that the keys never leave the device and can't be extracted even if the attacker has physical access. Even if your PC is 100% owned by a hacker and your HW wallet is plugged into the USB port the attacker still wouldn't be able to get your keys.

Ledger and Trezor are the most popular brands.
