Tldr: is adding 200 AAVE(=$23000) to my portfolio worth it?

I don't want to succumb to the whole "too diversified ngmi" meme. After selling my link at $18, I've been coasting off btc and eth gains. Portfolio is about 100 eth and 1.7 btc. I'm getting sick of having fiat sitting around to "buy the dip because it's going back to 10k". It feels like it could be good to have a generic defi coin in my portfolio. I'm not particularly greedy and don't feel the need to "invest" in a low cap shitter to try and make it out of desperation (defi or otherwise). My questions:

Is a portfolio this size going to be stretched too thin with the diversify meme?
If diversified, is defi even the play?
Is it better to just not fix what isn't broken and go more in to btc/eth?
It seems like a bitch move to sit on 20k right now.
Also seems like a bitch move to buy after the recent pump.

I think deversifying on defi projects is pointless. You're just betting on defi in general. If you want to diversify buy something completely different that won't crash if defi market crashes.

Regarding Aave, I suggest using it intelligently. I have a bag myself and waiting untill rAAVE goes live and will use my Aave to farm rAAVE

You have 20k? Find stuff that hasn't mooned that much yet and expects to have news within the next few months
Keep the eth and btc

I had 30 aave sitting around that I had bought for 1k, sold it this morning and bought .1 of BTC today. Logic was the following: do I plan on buying AAVE or BTC in the future, and the answer was crystal fucking clear, so I'm done looking at AAVE charts, even it goes higher etc.

Ehhhh you're a little too poor to make this easy but rich enough that you can make it with the right bets... no one here actually knows wtf will happen but I think there are at least some reasonable 10x's due in the next year. I'm not convinced Aave is one of them (and I own a very small stack because it was also one of my "I'm going to start diversifying" picks although I waited til after $500k USD in crypto to do that) and here's why: Decentralized lending is too easy to get into, and once regulatory lines are clear for banks they will all jump in making Aave's best case scenario getting absorbed by a bank or becoming a standard protocol for the banks - now either one of those would be HUGE but you have to understand they have a lot of competition right now, so that's REALLY akin to betting on a horse, and have you ever been to a horse race?

I honestly think all in ETH might get you 5-10x this year and would be pretty safe. I also think LINK is due for another 3-5x this year at least. If you want to YOLO in the decentralized lending scene, I'd place several bets and not put all your eggs in 1 basket (AAVE, Synthetix, YFI maybe). If you want to invest in low caps there are a few non "shitter" things, of course any low cap is a gamble because the project hasn't yet proven itself but ROSE / Oasis Protocol is a pretty strong contender and GRT is actually a good bet right now as well.

Good luck.

I would rather place my bet on smartcredit! It will move like AAVE. Mark my words.

UNI, AAVE and SNX are leading Defi following Link at the moment and are most accessible to normies..so do with that what u may.. Staying in Eth is prob super comfy this market cycle.

This op. You can’t go wrong with snx, uni, or Aave for defi plays. I think each of these will 10x by year end with another defi summer bubble. My portfolio is 320 eth, 2,000 snx, 160 avve and 2,000 uni. With a 21,000 suicide bag of the og biz coin 0xbtc. Good luck

Thank you for the solid advice.

is it worth picking any up? I fear that I'm too late on this and it's already mooned.
Asking because I have a shitty bag of OMG that I've been holding for months. I'm still in profits on it, but I've given up on it after seeing it crab while loopring mooned. Want to swap it for something else before it continues dumping.

If you diversify with equal allocation and rebalance on low percent change thresholds with bots you will make a shit ton of money in times where alts take over. Stick to BTC the rest of the time and you're golden.
